Male Common Darter, I think.
It was perched on the top of this stick for some while until a wasp chased it off. Every now and then it would fly off in a circle and return to its perch, looking for prey or a mate, I wonder.

@npub1yln…e2vv That’s interesting. I’ve had a couple of Erodium cultivars which don’t look like umbellifers and I hadn’t heard of this one. Is it very localised?
