When I was a teenager I was part of a homophobic evangelical Christian movement. I was closeted, and shame, guilt, and fear followed me wherever I went. I lived with the constant terror of going to hell.
It was a damaging time. I’m no longer Christian, but seeing things like this feels healing. ❤️‍🩹

We're all entitled to our opinion, but it's disturbing how many user reviews trash books with a flawed protagonist. Far too many people seem to think the mark of a good story is "I would like to be friends with the main character."
Without reading comprehension, all we have are moral tales.

Many incels and TERFs share the same bleak worldview:
- Men are inherently violent and sexual
- Women are destined to be passive victims
- We’re all governed by our genitals in an unsettlingly violent binary
- This can’t ever be fixed because “biology”
- Queer and trans people are deluded or lying
Both are reactionary views that accept an extreme idea: patriarchy as an inevitable, natural force. Real men are predators and women their prey.
We have a moral obligation to do better than that.
