The new story from 'IDF sources' is that it wasn't an 'unintentional strike' but a whole boatload of people 'disobeying orders' which uh I'm not sure is making it any better?
If you can't order your troops to not commit blatant war crimes and expect those orders to be followed, what the hell are you doing sending in those troops?
Of course, the answer is: These war crimes are condoned and welcomed at all levels, and aim towards the stated goal of genocide.

@npub1437…ranm Thiel sold PayPal to eBay way way back, and while he might retain an ownership stake, I don't think using it for payments supports the war machine (or Palantir) in a significantly more concrete way than using a lot of other products.
Like don't get me wrong, Thiel is an actual vampire, and Palantir is definitely an important part of the military industrial complex, but the connections to Paypal are mostly historical.

@npub1ep2…kle4 Not if posts are not distributed to non-followers/blocked servers, and you have a way to stop people from following you, like in AP.
Sure there's screenshots and whatnot, but there are ways to limit spread if you are interested in doing so.
Related question: How would Bluesky ever implement a DM system in ATProto? Would it be obligatory to have an XMPP server to handle DMs and include that in the DID somehow?

It's funny: Both Bandcamp and Patreon had the easiest and most straightforwardly long-term profitable business models imaginable: Sit between indie creatives and their fans, provide some basic services for mediation (comment sections, media posts, semi-global payment) and take enough of a cut of any payments to cover the costs and then some.

If you'd like to contribute to #OpenStreetMap but feel lost and unsure where to begin, I can recommend getting StreetComplete, which turns filling out OSM data fields into a game of completing quests in your local area. You'll get questions like "What's the road surface here?" or "What are the opening times for this shop?" or "What's the house number of this house?" and can just go there and check and then answer. Very convenient for me who don't understand GIS and OSM!

Been thinking a bit about Bluesky vs Fediverse lately. We'll see if it coalesces into anything substantial.
In short: I don't think the Fediverse competes with Bluesky, and I don't think Bluesky is going to be federated at any point (for the same reason why Reddit never federated).
They have different basic assumption and modes of interaction.
I also don't think the Fediverse is going to become a global hegemonic system any time soon. It'll keep doing well on the margins though.
