I'll say one thing. A lot of people conflate Cajun and Creole. That's the first mistake. A Cajun is a White person, and if you happen to be a part of a specific area like me you go beyond Cajun to become a Coonass. A Creole is a nigger. The difference between Cajun and Creole cooking? You can eat Cajun food without thinking its third world meat marinated in mud.
I'm in that "sub-genre" of Cajun called Coonass. You come down here and you won't ever complain about the food, cher. You might need to go home in sweatpants though because the clothes you came in ain't gonna fit ya when you leave.

I've grown recently to love grilling. Being from Southeast Louisiana I've always been a jambalaya, gumbo, red beans & rice, ettouffee type of cook, but the joy of throwing a boston butt, whole chicken, rack of ribs or whatever you like in a smoke box has really got me going in that direction. Don't get me wrong, I still love my Cajun cooking in the ol black iron pot over a burner outside, but It's something else to throw some big ol hunks of meat in a smoker and get that bitch where it melts in your mouth it's so good.

It's taken me a good 2 years to get to that conclusion as well. Been listening to Pints with Aquinas, even though he's not really /our guy/ on some things(conservative populist type), he's gotten me to understand that I'm not the only one who's had problems questioning faith, or with vices, or other things. He was specifically addicted to porn and talks about it openly and is against it, obviously, but it sort of opened me up to the idea that there are people of faith who have various problems that make mine not seem so insane to be able to fit into the faith.

I might piss some of my friends off with this, might make some happy, lmao. In the past couple of years I've been fighting a personal spiritual battle with my own mind after my mother died. Religion played a big part of this. To put it in perspective for you I'll say that over the course of the last two years i've changed my personal views a lot. More than I maybe should have.
I've went through everything from Asatru to Buddhism to Gnosticism to Christianity and back through them all again, but something that really stuck with me above them all was Christianity.
I've come to terms with myself that I may never actually find the answer to everything, but I do know that I'd rather live my life as a Christian and it not be real, than live my life as a non-believer and go to hell.
This isn't intended to be a "hell thread" or anything. It's basically me just getting some long winded frustrations off my mind to people I enjoy being with. I'm specifically looking at Catholicism because my grandfather who was 100% Italian, of whom I never met, but am told I act a lot like, was Catholic.
This also played a role into why i've left NC.D & Poast multiple times over the course of the last year or so. I'm hoping I actually find some solace this time and stick around like I said I would.
