About as beautiful as /sarc tags... but seriously, I find modern wind turbines pretty. High-voltage pylons, not so much, so put them underground as HVDC cabling. Costs a little more, but keeps the NIMBY crowd out of the way.

Same experience in Finland, only the cold months are even colder. In summer, 350 km on a 90% -> 10% charge, in winter, no more than 250 km. Using the airco has a big effect on this: it pays to dress warm, put the seat and steering wheel warmers on, and minimise airco use.

The lack of transmission may solve itself as batteries are cheapening. OTOH the military vulnerability of all off-shore infra.
But, I can sort-of understand it as a strategy to defang the alliance of NIMBY and fossil-fuel lobbies: on-shore wind will become easier once fighting it can no longer prevent the transition.

Yep. But because the 12 km error would occur in *every* pseudo-range measurement made to every satellite in the sky, it would cancel out in your receiver location solution, being absorbed by the receiver clock offset unknown (GPS receivers, like computers, typically use an inexpensive quartz oscillator, and the clock offset from GPS system time is treated as a nuisance unknown - unless you bought the receiver for timekeeping).

Perhaps the old fox is quietly following Napoleon's "don't interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake" as Israel is demonstrating for the world to see how wildly off-the-rails they are, at a price of 35,000 dead Gazans. And only then, step by reasonable step, raise the pressure, all the time explaining why, to show the Israel lobby's attacks for what they are.
