But because the 12 km error would occur in *every* pseudo-range measurement made to every satellite in the sky, it would cancel out in your receiver location solution, being absorbed by the receiver clock offset unknown (GPS receivers, like computers, typically use an inexpensive quartz oscillator, and the clock offset from GPS system time is treated as a nuisance unknown - unless you bought the receiver for timekeeping).",
