I cared for my wife from 2017 - 2023. She's now in hospital, soon moving to care. I'm getting therapy. Alzheimer's is an awful disease for all concerned. 😭

On his deathbed, dad said his dad & grandmother were Aboriginal, calling his grandparents a combo - an illegal mixed couple. Who knew? Not me. True? No idea. Yet. I toot as a white man, & benefit from the privilege that brings in Australia. I live on Darug land.

Looks good. Twin headlights or spotlights? No wildlife?
Here, kangaroos and other animals can be a problem in the early evening and morning. Especially in country areas. I try to avoid the roads as dusk approaches. When I've been caught out late, I've seen literally 100s of roos outback, and other times none. 🤷 Of course, the only one I hit was in the middle of the day...(all ok)

Another cool video. I really love these glimpses into your country and local area.
Good riding, too, down here, many people wouldn't consider taking a road bike on that dirt, and some would be wary about even taking an adv bike along some of the roads you've recently shown us. 😁

Riding empties my mind of worry - I have to concentrate and ride instead. Yes, worry comes back, but it's weaker, and that mental freedom has been fantastic.

Beep beep! I like the friendly "I am here, please don't run into me" style of beeps much better than our "get out of my *#@%ing way, you &+¿§! 🤔
I remember a time when we did your style - and some roads with "sound horn" signs on bends - but that was a lifetime ago. Once... Nana's car horn didn't work (mechanic husband...), so at the corners, we wound down the windows and beeped as loudly as we could. Such fun!

And they also have dangerous hooks, ready to spring back and snack you in the head - or eye. I worked with someone whose son lost his eye in an elastic strap incident. ROK are narrower, which suits my application better, Andy are wider, so don't cut into your load.

BYD? Build Your Dreams. Huge company. Huge EV manufacturer, also making e-buses. World's 2nd biggest battery manufacturer behind CATL. In some markets BYD sell more cars with EV tech than Tesla, but that includes large numbers of hybrids, which Tesla doesn't sell.
Quite popular in Australia, and quite affordable.
