The (man-made) environmental disaster in the Doñana Natural Park wetlands that @npub1zr6…wzwq just linked to might appear to be a local, Southern Spanish issue, but make no mistake: Doñana is a vital stop on the migration path of every bird colony in Europe. The repercussions of this will be felt all over the continent.
And, seeing how things are going here in Spain (spoiler: it's grim), international pressure might be the only resource we have.

Since we had a bit of a @npub19xu…rl6g outage last night, and since @npub120z…33r2 just rolled out their shiny and new Instagram Import feature, I took the opportunity to test run it.
Amazing: the whole process was smooth and easy. There are some limitations, of course: you need to manually select which pictures to import, and there's a top limit of 1000 images - but a couple of hours later, I had just over 750 IG posts from between 2013 and 2023 up on my pixelfed account:

Around this time last year, the Center for Deep Listening launched A Year of Deep Listening, a call for Deep Listening scores in homage to Pauline Oliveros. I decided to take part, and eventually sent in not one, but ten scores - and then I just kept writing more. (Rather predictably in my case, all of them turned out to be soundwalking scores). I was also very pleased when one of them - Ariadne Soundwalk - was selected for A Year of Deep Listening.

One thing I managed to do this weekend was bring back to life one of my old #[3] from the 1990s. The poor thing had spend quite a few years unable to boot up. All sorted now.
So this is the #[4] Diamond, a chess computer first released in 1994. It's happy to be alive again and it's ready to kick some ass.
