Recently, I have been thinking about the following: I have become disenfranchised by the Second Brain concept. I believe in having a digital archive, but I now realize that over the last few years, I have become less prone to commit to memory things that should be in memory.
A Tool for Thought should help with thinking, not just thought storage. This is also rooted in GTD, and your mind is not for storing data. But the ancients had no other alternative. Second brains can be a crutch. #TfT #PKM

Notion Teamspaces — I am curious if those using @NotionHQ for PKM use "Teamspaces" to logically separate their notes in a workspace, even though they won't have other users in the Teamspace?
Or do they use Teamspaces to share content with "Guests" for some level of collab in their notes?
Teamspaces make a lot of sense in a company context, but I am curious if they have a role in PKM.

In other words, GTD can't tell you your life's purpose; you have to define it for yourself. Then, you can take that and layer it onto the GTD system as a way of organizing and structuring how you will fulfill your purpose. 🌟

The horizons help establish levels of perspective that can then be tied into your more immediate daily activities. Any time something comes up that you're unsure fits in, you need to run up the horizons to see if there is alignment. 🌅🔍

I have to admit that I initially thought GTD could not help with vision & alignment. However, after reevaluating the system, I have to say that the Horizons of Focus do a good job of helping to establish vision, goals, roles, projects, and actions. 🚀🎯👍

I have been reflecting on my decades of use of GTD. The biggest issue I always had with it:
🔄 a dislike of the weekly review while ironically at the same time greatly appreciate it
➕ and, even more importantly, is incorporating long-term vision and life's priorities.

My new favorite plugin is Modal Form: a form designer for #Obsidian. It makes it much easier to collect metadata to use in documents. It is especiallly powerful when combined with Templater or QuickAdd plugins.

@npub1220…pvnp For a long time now, I’ve used the multi line approach just because of the overall flexibility. I use templates to quickly generate the flashcards, so I don’t even really think about the syntax anymore.

I've been using Spaced Repetition flashcards for years. Over 2 years ago, I transitioned my SRS system to Obsidian with the plugin featured in this video. It's effective, and I enjoy making flashcards within my research notes. #TfT #Obsidian 📚✨

I am curious what kind of meta explanations you add to your notes to make them more useful for the future?
By the way, it is surprising how easy AI makes this to do. It gets me 80-90% there, and then I use my brain for the last leg of the mental race.

I try to make sure my summaries speak to "future me," that is, I make sure they will make sense to me in the future, and not just leaving them to chance.

One challenge I have is laziness. 😅 I never like writing summaries. So using Templater plugin & my own AI for Templater plugin, I put together a script I run at the end of a note taking session to get a smart summary, which I then edit for accuracy.

Having a summary, it made a lot easier to find what I was looking for, and also to review previous meetings. I often use this summary in a dataview query linked to my master "Person" Note for David.
This proves useful for improving search & aiding in knowledge rediscovery.

I found that I was searching through notes 📝 it was getting harder to find what I want. For example, I have a note for every meeting with David going back two years, about 80 files. So when I want to find something I discussed with David, I had to go through a lot of files.

Starting back over a month ago I started a new habit in my note taking inside @npub14dl…a40d
I forced myself to have a concise, future-me oriented summary of every note in a property called summary.
