I found the sync slowed down considerably as it got closer to 100%, I think because more recent blocks have more complicated transaction structure so it takes longer to do the verification. The bottleneck was definitely CPU power rather than data transfer speed.

Amethyst doesn't ask for an email, it's possible you had the wrong app from the play store. When you search for amethyst there are a few apps with that name, and the one for Nostr is a bit further down the list. The icon is a purple diamond with a white ostrich-looking creature.

Someone shared a graph here showing that even with 4MB blocks, the total blockchain size will only reach 4TB by the year 2040. If you have 2TB storage you'll be good for a while yet.
The blockspace still has to be paid for and since most NFTs are scams I don't think there will be much demand for them on Bitcoin. Scam projects tend to be run on scam chains.

What was the logic behind such a long sentence for that type of crime? I'm guessing it was X number of years per victim of the scheme, and the scheme was very successful?

It's simple: they know that if they print too much money too quickly, the effects of inflation would become too obvious and people would start to question the system (as is happening now), so they take taxes to increase their revenue while keeping inflation lower. Likewise if they take taxes, people assume that's where all their money comes from, so attention isn't drawn to the money printer.

What I don't get is why anyone would have to specify they don't accept a particular payment method unless they know there's a demand for it.
Like if a shop says "we don't accept credit cards" the context makes sense - people want to use credit cards to pay, so if you don't accept them it's nice to warn people. If a shop said "we don't accept cheques" I'd be confused because nobody pays with cheques anymore.
If this band member felt the need to specify they don't accept Bitcoin then they must have had requests to tip in Bitcoin, which is great. Be even better if they took that on board and started accepting those tips.

I'm using amethyst now, so far it's been very stable. Apparently it's on the play store so you don't have to build it manually using the instructions on GitHub.

We have sats, where one Bitcoin is 100 million sats (short for satoshis). Can also use milli-Bitcoin, mBTC which are a thousandth of a Bitcoin, and micro-Bitcoin, uBTC, which are a millionth.

Wonder if there's some way to use LN-auth with nostr so you can sign nostr events with a lightning wallet? Nostr private key could be derived from your BTC seed, and the nostr public key could also act as a receiving address for BTC?
