Okay, I have lost all sense of what is being said/interpreted here. ‘No stone unturned’ is just a hyperbolic idiom, right? It isn’t really a measure of activity? So unless the lawyers are taking it quite literally (and what could that even mean?) what’s realistic or not in stone-turning?

Okay, so this is a remarkable motion from the Professional Footballers Association, calling for equal conditions in the women’s game.
In a month when the official world’s best - the absolute glory - of women’s football has been overshadowed by casual misogyny by high profile leaders, it’s a JOY to have the collective voice of UK footballers - male, female, everyone - raised to demand better.

Apropos of horrible crimes I don’t want to talk about, UK news/politics is full of outrage at criminals refusing to appear for their own sentencing
I don’t really get it.
The punishment is what’s described in the sentence. No part of it is the convicted criminal’s public display during the sentencing, is it? Haven’t we moved on from pillories?
And YES, victims/society should “see justice done”. That’s answered by transparent, public proceedings inc the sentencing with or without the convicted
