Guys, in addition to "pelf", we need to bring back the Old English word "thole". I first encountered it in Heaney's translation of Beowulf, and it is *splendid*. It means "to endure" or "to suffer", survives in Scots, and deserves more use.

No, one Novel rite Mass per month, even in Latin, is not acceptable. The Traditional rite is a superior liturgy. We don't want (just) pretty Latin; we want the fullness of the Western Christian tradition. Even a Latin Novel rite just doesn't have that.

A huge problem: the poor quality of Latin texts on the Vatican website. Just the first few paragraphs of Quas Primas has transcription errors like "terrarnm" and "monuimns". We need high-quality transcriptions; some of these appear to have been done by computer, or at least very carelessly proof-read.

Deer! Woods near Neabsco Creek. They are utterly without fear. During certain seasons, they allow bow hunting here. I've never done it, but it's sure tempting when I see this. I was five yards from that last one, with no attempt to move quietly, and she didn't budge.

@npub13aw…cpqw We don't use imperial; we use customary. Queen Victoria changed some British measurements, but we didn't. One of them is the pint: ours is sixteen, not twenty, ounces. And I've never heard one of us say it with an English accent.
