England is funny to watch. You invaded and colonized every corner of the planet, forced the people there to use English and then years later, you leave the EU because you don't understand why so many brown and black people, who are granted asylum or refugee status in the EU, want to come to England. Justice is a function of law and law is a function of power. When chattel slavery was legal in much of the world, a slave was committing a crime by escaping and the bounty hunter or slave patrol that captured the slave and returned them to the plantation was delivering "justice". Justice relies on what is legal, not what is right. Food is a basic human right stealing it shouldn't be a crime. Disenfranchising the people from access to the land and therefor the ability to get food without paying an oligarch for it should be the crime.

No legal means of attacking the rich or defending ourselves from them will work. They control the courts, the cops, and the media.
The law binds but does not protect the poor. The law protects but does not bind the wealthy.
Unfortunately, the only way to get change is to do it the way The Adjuster did it.
The wealthy can fight off any lawsuit and any criminal court action by throwing money at it.
They can't stop a determined lone actor, like The Adjuster.

I don't feel like it ever went away though. I knew a farmer, when I was a teenager, many decades ago, who escaped from Ukraine while Stalin was in power. He described mass starvation while the region produced huge amounts of grain. It was all for the state. The Soviet Union while claiming to be socialist, had wealthy bureaucrats due to corrupt practices. His descriptions paralleled the story of the pigs in Animal Farm by Orwell. He left Ukraine by hiking out on foot traveling only at night. He was 14 years old at the time. When I met him he was in his mid 60s. He told me his choices were to stay and certainly starve or try and escape and perhaps die on the journey. He eventually made it to the USA and got his mother, sister, and one of his uncles out, if I remember the family relationships correctly. He was the only one in the house that spoke English.

Who gets to decide which people are useful? The biggest problem killing the planet isn't overpopulation, though that is a problem, it's the capitalist 1% of the population that is keeping us on fossil fuels even though cleaner options exist. The religious organizations that force people to marry and reproduce for their imaginary sky daddy to have more subjects to rule over need to be banned. Forcing people to have kids they can't afford just so the state can keep people poor and dumb for the benefit of the 1%.

I was a jailer for two years. Not proud of it, I needed the money.
One of the repeat offenders we had was an old man who was HIV positive. He went to jail several times while I was working there and always for the same thing. He would shoplift items from a store while in full view of a cop. This old man had a cane and could barely walk. There was no way he expected to get away with it.
After he was arrested we had to process him and the medical questions always led back to his HIV diagnosis. The state provided him with his HIV medication while he was awaiting trial where he always pleaded guilty. He was always released after serving less than 60 days pretrial. Upon release, he was given six months worth of his HIV medications (which he needed to survive) and he would shoplift again when he ran out of medication.
It would have been cheaper for the state to just give him the medications without him needing to be part of the criminal justice system first.
He was shoplifting so he could stay alive.

And the shooter, who was definitely not Luigi Mangione, used an eBike, proving you can be green while cleaning the streets of corporate filth. He also showed us that bikes are the fastest and least expensive way to get around the city and avoid the police.

The man inside the store with his face exposed may or may not be the shooter but the jackets and the backpacks don't match. It's December in New York City. Lots of people are wearing black neck gaiters and hooded jackets because it's cold outside. If I were a juror, I would have a reasonable doubt.

It amazes me that so many Americans think their tiny little toy guns could do anything against the world's most advanced and well funded military.
What will your little AR-15 do against an armored Humvee with an MK-19 automatic grenade launcher turret?
Three guys get out of each Humvee in full combat armor, kick in your front door and come in and start taking all the guns in the house away. They will probably pillage a little bit too.
The streets are locked down by military patrols. You aren't going anywhere and your neighbors and family aren't either.
If you dare shoot one of the men coming to collect your guns they will return fire, withdraw to the street, and start firing 40mm Grenades from the turret on top of their Humvee.
The Second Amendment was meant to put the power the military wields into the hands of the people. The people are not allowed to have grenade launchers. The people are not allowed to have Apache helicopter gunships.
Americans don't have Second Amendment rights as intended by the writers of the constitution, they have toys sold to them by the NRA. They are only useful for killing other civilians, armed with toys.

@nprofile…d0dx A bicycle can stop very quickly and they travel at low enough speed to identify hazards such as pedestrians. A car going through a pedestrian crosswalk with or without a signal is a major danger but a bicycle is highly unlikely to hit a pedestrian and because of the low weight and speed of a bicycle, if a collision were to occur injuries to both the pedestrian and the bicyclist will almost never be serious. The only reason the crosswalk is even there is because of cars. Ban cars from that area and the crosswalk becomes completely unnecessary.

@nprofile…d0dx Traffic lights are for car users not bicyclists and pedestrians. If you want proof, go anywhere that cars are not allowed and only bicyclists and pedestrians are permitted and you won't find any traffic lights.
