@npub1hwt…qgwa Instance picker is always a nice addition, I think. Nitpick: checkboxes and "Continue" button don't seem appropriate for this screen, because user may want to proceed faster in one tap. All that it lacks now is an "I feel lucky" button for signing up fast!

Was working today on kind of an entry piece for Community Design Team: a logo and new mascot for #Bootc (special type of container).
His name is Bootseef and he's ready to fly through updates! 🚀🚀 Thanks to Madeline Peck and Design Team for the sketches, sources and color choices that inspired me. 👋 I enjoyed doing this particular mascot the most.
@npub1cly…wq2j and #CommunityDesignTeam have lots of work on their plate, so I invite aspiring and designers by trade to have a looksie-look in their GitLab issues. @npub1gl5…7hk0 has engineering and other teams worth their gold, making software great, as well.

Can anyone please suggest a #PeerTube instance to host Creative Freedom Summit on? That would suck if they had to resort to YouTube streaming only so late, right??? 😳 I mean, expectations up to this point were that they'd use #FOSS for hosting it, no cutting corners. But the test session revealed that https://peertube.linuxrocks.online server has trouble generating livestream metadata, so...
CFS is a free and #OpenSource software conference by #Fedora Design Team, that is in dire need for an alternative PeerTube instance that (1) aligns with the topic, (2) is available long-term and (3) has a working livestream endpoint. "Sepia search" kinda thing integrated into Element would quickly reveal yours besides the faker. If admins are gonna ban the ill-intended rooms, ask them to remove all aliases too.
Next thing in the morning, I would recommend you to snipe that remote name. Open your space settings via matrix.org account and claim this published address there (alias of sorts). I do this with my channels for better discoverability.

The problem, in my opinion, is the wording:
"Pick my own Server".
It does not say "other", it just assumes that user will be proficient enough to self-host (let's not pretend that it's cheap to run this elephant) or the expectation is that "my own" will be treated like a matter of free choice, while it may not come off as friendly as per my first point.
