The policy of the British government should be this:
Ceasefire.
Ignore the Israel lobby.
Ban arm-sales to Israel.
Use diplomatic pressure to bring Israel back towards a workable two-state* solution and end apartheid.
If Keir Starmer can't call for this and instead carries on saying he'll wait for Washington's position to change, he should resign. We desperately need independent foreign policy.
*I'd favour a single-state secular solution, but meh let's go with the UN position for now.

Trouble with mastodon dot social is its huge and the official Mastodon application on mobile deliberately steers users to it.
These users won't even know they can't see this posts in their feeds because people are hidden or suspended.
None of these users promote violent ideologies or anything against the official listed rules, yet they're gone... Why? Probably cuz of a single report from some war-mongering censorship-prone fool.

Call me crazy but I'm planning on bringing loads of my web infrastructure, apps and customers back on-prem.
Only important stuff will be left in the cloud - reducing the monthly cloud costs by about 80%.

@npub1rm3…jjh7 Brave is OK. I use a DNS sinkhole for blocking trackers and ads rather than doing this on a device.
On desktop where I do 95%+ of my browsing its is a combination of Firefox or Edge, while both are quite loose in regards to privacy in their default state, both can be hardened relatively well.
Brave would be more appealing if it didn't use Chromium - which is the main reason Firefox is the other browser in the mix.

Someone blocked me because I said human's lived for hundreds of thousands of years without money.
Can't tell if creationist or otherwise deeply ignorant.
Was the context some heated debate? No, it was about our future in space and if we want it to be like Star Trek or some other dystopian sci-fi franchise. 😅

@npub1ayq…fusv the UK is only 200 years old, in its modern form only a hundred, i.e. since most of Ireland left.
I don't think it's anything to get attached to. Class struggle more important.

@npub1ayq…fusv there's probably a majority in #Scotland that want out of the Union already, Westminster will try and kick it down the road, but they'll be off without some radical changes in Londinium.
Northern #Ireland, probably not quite yet a majority - but I suspect we'll see Irish unification in the next 50 years.
Cornish and Welsh nationalism is on the ascendency, and Little Englanders are so indoctrinated and racist they'll self destruct whatever good feeling is left for the Union.

It's funny a few times lately I've had people ask me "how much territory of the UK would you give up for peace?" as if that's an argument that has any effect over me.
I'm not a nationalist so I don't really care about temporary nation-states and their temporary ever changing borders.
They seem surprised by this.
The Bolshevik's literally gave up this much territory to Germany and Austria-Hungary for peace.
Why? Because peace was more important than more death and destruction.
