@npub1uwc…lc5y Yeah, MMF's search is garbage, as is almost everyone else's when it comes to resin models. Part of it is due to the weird whisper-network-to-avoid-GW-litigiousness, but honestly, even without that, the search functionality on all these vendor sites _needs_ to improve.

@npub1uwc…lc5y Two-stage motion control. It separates lifts and retracts into a 'slow' and a 'fast' distance. Most modern printers support it.
8mm is _definitely_ low, especially for full plates. 8mm is what I run on the Mono 2, and its plate is quite a bit smaller.

#MiniaturePainting Fedi: I've recently discovered I cannot get my usual Rustoleum white primer anymore (for some reason, locals only stock the paint+primer version, which is much worse, in white), so I'm looking for recommendations for replacements.
Some important notes:
* No GW products, because screw that awful company
* Miniature-specific products will do in a pinch, but I prefer hardware store stuff
* My local stores are Bunnings and Mitre 10, so if they don't have it, I can't get it.

Is anyone else on Firefox having issues with Stripe's new UI? It fails on the captcha step right after you submit the payment. It complains about ad blockers, but even if I disable mine, nothing works.

@npub1uwc…lc5y I personally prefer alcohol washing, as disposing wash water is trickier than cleaning spent alcohol. I use denatured rather than isopropanol, because it does the same thing and costs about one-quarter as much by volume.

@npub1uwc…lc5y Not for me unfortunately! Assuming an MOQ of 3kg (which isn't really asking much), Sunlu's ABS-like is significantly less than Elegoo's for me, assuming I buy from Elegoo themselves. If I buy from Amazon (due to weird stocking issues), it's closer, but _still_ less. Only by a few bucks.

Update: seems Ondsel had nothing to do with it, as #FreeCAD 0.22 won't let me choose the origin as a constraint target _either_.
Why did this change? Genuinely, I just want a coincident constraint on the origin and the centre of a circle, and on FreeCAD 0.21 it worked without problems.

Now, this isn't me grousing about how any changes are bad because the new stuff is unfamiliar. Likewise, I don't feel in any way FreeCAD's UI is perfect: frankly, _lots_ can be improved! However, Ondsel does... seemingly none of that.
Shouldn't have expected much from an outfit based out of SF I guess. Fiddling with things pointlessly appears to be the only thing they're good at.

Enjoy figuring out how to type the degree symbol!
Thirdly, and that's the real killer: in Part Design mode, when sketching, the origin isn't selectable, or at least, I couldn't figure out how to do it.
These changes are ... very odd. Genuinely unsure who asked for this, or why anyone would prefer it.

@npub1uwc…lc5y I was actually advising a creator (making modular tanks) to go for a hybrid FDM-resin design for exactly this reason. You can build the inner hull FDM, saving time and money, then do all the smaller parts (guns, decorative bits, etc) in resin.

Another day, more Mini fixes. This one is both cosmetic and practical, as it fixes the weird co-dependency between idler tension and skew in the original part. It also uses heatset inserts, though it's lacking in instructions in key places quite badly. I'll post a make, with relevant critique.
