Crazy, been hearing all today bout how Hertz have 'dumped' Tesla because *reasons* and they are selling 20,000 #evs
Except they are currently selling 27,721 vehicles.
-661 are Teslas (2%)
-5394 are Chevrolets
-5301 are Fords
-2890 are Nissans
-2231 are Toyotas
-Sales also include Mercedes, Porsche and many others
The teslas are high mileage vehicles they have rented to uber drivers, this is pretty standard behavior for rental companies..

2023 was, to no ones surprise, the hottest year on record.
It was an El Niño year (an event we are still in) so would be an outlier but significantly hotter than previous El Niño events.

Governments are inherently reactionary.
We've seen movement on AI which is good and early but they are lost on the question of sourcing data for models etc and how / where to control their use and capabilities if needed
None of these things would happen and be a success if it wasnt a benefit to society, just because they are new and we view new as scary ...

Gov IT is such a nightmare tho.
Even if you mean well you have to fight literally everyone else with their own castles.
Used to do health IT in the UK at a great place that kicked off a national program that ended up being all about covering your backs and nothing about innovation
needless to say it failed

Sigh. With the end of the Clean car scheme coming up we are seeing lots of new huge gross polluting vehicles planned for #newZealand
This costs us all in terms of health and climate damage, remember 1 in 10 deaths in NZ are pollution related

@npub150u…k2st VW/Auydi have been cutting a lot of corners for cost and not just on their EVs
Missing power tailgate/seats, the 2 button + cap toggle for the drivers window controls (horrid) ,all the capacitive buttons etc
Theres heaps of examples. IMO the ID interior is wretched, the audi is better though
Not sure what the full reason is behind some of this

A bit about me and my photography
I use mostly Canon and Sony bodies, canon & sigma lenses, Lee filters, Novoflex manual pano head + iPano robotic, sirui tripod
My workflow is Raw -> adobe camera raw -> Photoshop , with the occasional PtGui for stitching. I use Lumenzia as a plug in but not much else
Mostly I try keep things similar to how it looked, but not always. Might clone minor items but generally dont do a lot of work on images
