I have to say the multi-column Mastodon 'advanced' view on the inside larger screen of the Pixel Fold is pretty great.
#GrapheneOS running perfectly on it, too. And I've found a way to use my favourite launcher for the outside (closed) state and a different one when it's open 🤘

One thing they didn't really get into was family relationships. It seems to me that the pandemic, a catalyst for many things, helped strengthen or destroy many of those relationships.

Yesterday, I was invited to speak at an event in Saudi Arabia. Even beyond the idea of implicitly supporting human rights abuses, I can't imagine anyone would want to go who's read who's read Dave Eggers' book 'A Hologram for the King' (later made into a film featuring Tom Hanks)

Well, despite lots of interest and offers, the offer *we* made on the house we want was accepted 🎉
I think it helped that we not only don't have a chain (we've been renting since selling out house in Nov) but we kind of know the vendors.
So... all change again. It's the type of house I can imagine us living in for the next 30 years TBH.

@npub1ahr…m294 The idea is that you combine different people's views of your skills rather than rely on your own introspection?
Your experience may differ vastly from mine, but I've found that (although there's overlap) the results surprise me.
Perhaps your mental model is LinkedIn endorsements and you've read what I've written through that lens? I don't see the two as similar.

The truth is that, in my world at least, soft (or 'human') skills such as collaboration and teamwork are just as important as research and report-writing.
There's also the fact that other people often know us better than we know ourselves.
So this is one of the rare occasions when I have a fundamental philosophical disagreement with @npub1ahr…m294 (whom I massively respect)

Stephen suggests that other people's comments about an individual's competencies are 'second-hand information'. But this is to presuppose that the only thing which it's worth listing as attributes are hard skills.

What are people using these days for citation management and storing research documents? 🤔
