@npub1rnq…7anc Justupdatedto 6.0.2. There are upgrades, and nothingbroke. Butwe still arent thrre yet. Linux desktop was like this for years and years and years. Today desktop linux is super reliable. I think #linuxmobile Is really close, but not yet ready for an experiece that comes close to beating android .Or ios. I also don't think we are years and years away. Ive got a real, and honest feeling we might only be months away. We are soley dependent on a few individualshere,.

Well its not wors. Qt6 apps are broken still. eBut it is still not worse, which while it sounds kinda mean, I honestly believe this is improvement. I really mean this. We've got a whole new stack to play with. But we arent daily driveable yet. I think that is going to change quicker than we realize.

@npub1x7d…sddw Yup. I installed it today from edge. Itlooks better than ever. Breeze theme has nice improvements. But, I cant keep shell alive for toolong. Without crashing. I'vegot a feeling they will get the bugs sorted out soonenough. Just kinda wish pmos would'vewaitedabit.longer. To put it on edge. Sorry keyboard is also wonky.

@npub1yy9…zrul At this point I get fewer shell crashes on Linux than windows. None of the FOSS gui shells come with that wierd news thing that comes standard on W11. And, every single FOSS email client(thunderbird, kmail, evolution, etc?) has significantly fewer bugs than outlook.

I tried to really, really like #rust. I vowed to only program in rust. And while I appreciate the borrow checker, I found #cpp so much more enjoyable to code in, and also actually complete my projects.
I understand rust is probably the future, and I am probably in the minority, but I don’t think I will be working on anymore personal projects in Rust. I find that it is too complicated, and maybe it’s because I am old, but I find c++ documentation so much easier to read and understand.

Then i'd suggest fastmail. It doesn't scrape like gmail, but I found the privacy policy inconsistent when I read it, which is why I won't use it.
It's all about juggling privacy for convenience, and better privacy is better than no privacy.

Does she access mail through the browser or through imap/smtp?
Protonmail is truly private, and works great on a browser, but proton-bridge is lacking when using with thunderbird/etc.
