This isnt asset seizure at all. My state has a similar system already, it just doesn't do it for bitcoin or crypto yet.
Let's say I had a natural gas bill I was paying, but then I moved and there was a leftover balance on the account(I overpaid). They send me a check, but I didn't give them a new address...
Now they have money sitting in an account waiting for me. Eventually those funds are marked abandoned, and they are supposed to give it to the state government, there is a process by which I can claim those unclaimed funds from the state.
That's all this is, they extended their abandoned funds system to include crypto.

Perhaps TMI, but I struggled with both phimosis and paraphimosis. However, there are treatments beyond circumcision (stretching exercises, stretching devices). I had a particularly stubborn case and was cured with diligence and consistent treatment.
I don't regret my choice to remain uncut one bit.

Its going to be a measurement based on how much force was used in pulling it. Looking at those bands, the pulling of one band has to use up its force pulling the next band. Energy is lost in this system from friction of the rubber against the rod (minimized with lubricant) and the movement of the air as a result of the fan spinning. As well, some heat is lost heating up the rubber (the side effect of the tension of the rubber changing). Some is also lost in friction of the fan shaft.
I posit that the fan (if there is no inbound air force) would likely spin longer without the rubber bands given the same amount of input rotational force.

Energy is abundant, but all energy comes at a cost. Otherwise we could use a bunch of these to spin turbines to make electricity to mine bitcoin for free...
Perhaps if its a windy day... Something is driving that movement, otherwise it will slow and stop. Could it do a few revolutions? Sure, but only enough to use up the force put into it. If there's wind driving the fan blade though, that could keep it spinning until that external force stopped.

My family was talking about inflation today... And how the federal reserve helps maintain a good economy for everyone.
So I wrote this to them...
The costs of goods and services should naturally decrease over time. A loaf of bread used to cost 25 cents, this was back when the wheat was sewn by hand, picked by hand, and ground by a wind or water. Wheat is now grown genetically modified and with insecticides to increase yield, mass-harvested with automatic combines, ground in large quantities in giant mills, baked in industrial ovens, and shipped mass quantities to your local supermarket for $5. Where did the cost savings go of doing things a more efficient way??Economies are naturally deflationary. #Inflation is both abnormal and theft.

Divorce is complicated... Suffice it to say she moved out 22 months ago, and somehow that makes it ok to force me out of the home. Dont want to get into all the nitty gritty details, but between alimony, child support, paying her legal fees, and being forced to repair the home from the damages she stole the insurance claim money from...
I'm going to keep doing what I do best. I'm a maker, not a taker. So I'm going to make.

Cool, but why are you using VMWare Workstation on linux? Perhaps there is a feature you need from workstation? Or perhaps you need to ship VMs to others that use VMware?
If its an option for you, Linux has builtin virtualization using libvirt/KVM without requiring out of tree kernel modules. You can take a look at Boxes. I still like virt-manager myself.

Well, I survived. They almost ordered a selloff of half the bitcoin. I managed to turn the conversation to her getting $20k another way... I have 21 days to give her $20k. If I don't, I have to give her half the bitcoin (at today's dollar price). So if bitcoin goes to 1m tomorrow, you bet she's getting half at today's price. Also she can't come back and ask for more in the case she gets a bitcoin payout.

I think I finally got it. It clicked this morning when i woke up. My share of the 21m remains unchanged!
1/21m is a static amount and represents solid ownership and value. But $1/♾️$ is not. It represents a value aproaching (but never quite reaching) 0.
The price of bitcoin didnt fall... The rest of the monetary system deflated around BTC.

#bitcoin is free money.
That means ANYONE can own it,including your worst enemy. Any person, any company, any nonprofit, any GOVERNMENT.
This isn't #ether or some other #shitcoinery... Owning more doesn't make any entity more powerful except it terms of value.
Its not simping for politics to get involved in Bitcoin. It was going to happen. We will survive it. Stop the doom and gloom. We've seen this before. Open source runs targeting systems for missiles used in wars you don't agree with. The dollar is used to buy children in all sorts of countries. And bitcoin will be bought and sold by politicians to gain your favor.
This is how adoption works... They think they are using you to get what they want, but by making this a mainstream talking point, it is driving adoption to those who are curious. Yes, price blah blah blah. Who cares. Freedom tech is FREE. Adoption by any entity is a good thing in the long term.

I think its pretty self-evident that eventually the state will buy it... Once its fiat is apparently broken and nobody wants it. I see that as rather far off though. I have little concern if they buy it, they have as much right to own bitcoin as anybody. They don't get anything more or less than anyone else who owns bitcoin. And, at least in the US gov case, they already own bitcoin.

I'm not sure that would be any better. Being in power long enough affords them the ability to cast of any means of succession.
I think more important is to make the leader a figurehead with less powers, and have powers instead vested in smaller government institutions that are closer to the people.

Some people are aghast that I use #linux for #hamradio. Even more so when I say I use #archlinux.
The thing is it just works for me. I'm able to accomplish what I need to do. Does it solve the problem for my radio club friends? no... But that wasn't the intention anyways. I don't run windows on any of my devices. You also won't find MacOS here either.
I'm not saying its right for you, I'm not saying you should or shouldn't do anything. I am explaining what works for me. I have good reasoning too, as I have found this to be the best solution for me over a decades-long computing journey. If you want to know why, you are free to ask.

I dont think it will work...Not directly with LEDs. Radio waves inducted on an antenna are an alternating current, not a direct current, which LEDs expect.
You could do incandescent bulbs but not certain there's enough power to really light them up(depends on distance and directionality of the radio waves). I have seen people transmit with incandescent Christmas lights as an antenna, it works sorta, but that's a different power profile than receiving.
If you still want to do LEDs, you would have to find a way to convert the AC radio waves to DC... I don't think this is much unlike a strobe, so maybe you can modify one of those sound-based strobe devices to light the LEDs based on the incoming radio signal instead of based on incoming sound.

I was so tired today, and I couldn't figure out why. Perhaps I didn't sleep well, not sure.
Then I'm shuffling around the kitchen, and I notice the coffee pot is still full at 2pm... Mystery solved. I was so busy making a big breakfast, I forgot to drink the coffee I made.

@npub107w…7jtx gave me an awesome little 40m QRP transceiver kit from QRPme.com called the Rockmite II. It also came with a cute little Morse code key called the "FreeKey". That's my first key! Its so awesome, I am excited to get this built. Time for some radio tinkering!
