@npub1hvd…9sq9 In our area huge hopping “spiders” that aren’t spiders terrified our children when seen in bathtub. Had to smash them quickly before they hopped out 🙁

@npub1hvd…9sq9 Ha, had 1st baby in Switzerland when lived there. Nurse who spoke English wasn’t on duty but we knew enough German to get by until the doctor arrived (who spoke English) and complete the birth. Swiss have Name Book you have to use to pick the name, luckily we had agreed on a name so when a new nurse appeared demanding to know the baby’s name I was ready to answer. Unfortunately our middle name was not in the Name Book so we got a call from the Name Police to change it a few days later 🙂

@npub1yk6…4zz4 Wow, had no idea such behavior is so prevalent. Never tried to present a running narrative on a particular subject to the internet, can’t imagine what it’s like. OTOH I drove a taxi in NYC in early 1970’s when it was effectively abandoned, people just hadn’t realized it yet. My experiences were incredible, but I couldn’t block the strange people I met every day 🙂

@npub1hvd…9sq9 I don’t know how many children you have but the first to go to college is easy when there’s more children at home to take care of. When the last goes to college is when your life changes forever. It wasn’t sad for us but I could see how it could be 🙁

@npub1hvd…9sq9 She claims to this day that I told her it was Lake Louise but it wasn’t. We finally went to Banf 40 years later to see the lake on my slides, with a digitized copy of the photo on my iPhone. So yes, it does work. I guess loaning a book is a good idea too 🙂

@npub1hvd…9sq9 Ha, did invite a beautiful young woman to see my slides (remember those?) of a Banf National Park lake that I had in my room. We’ll be reaching 50 years of marriage soon, so I guess it worked 🙂

@npub1c32…ps3k Visited Lahaina often during our vacations in Hawaii for local cruises & dinners on the Pacific. It can be rebuilt & looking exactly like it did before. Tourists 100 years from now won’t know the difference. But ability & determination to do so have to be there, even if we don’t know if such a fire can happen again 🙁
