For SO(n) with n=2k+1 you have exterior generators in degrees 3, 7, ..., 4k-1; and the slightly different pattern you mentioned for even n is that if n=2k+2 then you have exterior generators in those same degrees 3, 7, ..., 4k-1 and an additional exterior generator in degree 2k+1. This means that when n is odd SO(n+1) has the same de Rham cohomology ring as SO(n)×S^n! (And when n is even the rings are non-isomorphic so the argument does work in those cases.)
When n=1 or 3, then SO(n+1) really is diffeomorphism to SO(n)×S^n, so I'm not sure what to expect for odd n.

Boy, am I glad that I started using #Emacs once it had been rewritten in Lisp (and C)! Check out the source code for Dired in TECO:

@npub1g62…f33t That makes sense! Well, it's fantastic —as are all the modus- and ef-themes really (Prot always does a bang up job!), but it's my favorite among the light themes. Do you also sometimes use a dark theme (whether an ef-theme or not)? If so, which one?

@npub1g62…f33t Have you tried Prot's ef-summer theme? I've been using it a few days and really liking it. It uses many shades of pink and feels very inviting. I use a light theme during the day and a dark theme at night and am currently pairing ef-summer with the ef-winter dark theme. Anyway, I saw this lovely pink theme with "summer" in the name and immediately thought of you. Wait a second: is it named after you?!

@npub1sat…8vnx First of all what would happen if you charged 10.59? The 2.9% part of the fee would be 31 cents, rounded to the nearest penny, so the total fee would be 61 cents and you'd only get 9.98, not 10 dollars.
You want to charge an amount such that if you subtract 2.9% percent you get 10.30, right? Now, subtracting 2.9% leaves you with 97.1%, so you are looking for an amount such that 97.1% of it is 10.30, that would be 10.30 ÷ 0.971 = 10.61, rounded to the nearest penny.
So that's the formula: to receive an amount X, you should charge (X + 0.30)÷0.971. Does that make sense?
