The IEA keeps going on with their „net zero“ „keep 1.5 alive“ fairytale. At some point they too must acknowledge the gigantic failure to address climate change appropriately. A failure for which they bear part of the responsibility.

We will hear this phrase again and again in the coming weeks.
I would prefer honesty and truth from decision makers than fairytales to sleep well at night. That would mean to accept 1.5 °C is gone, which in turn means they have failed. Utterly failed. Which would lead to informing about risks and consequences. And accepting responsibility and facing the future. Together. Decisively.
But that sounds almost like a fairytale.

@npub1uul…dkn7 This is spot on. Take for example, how some try to „defend“ nature by referring to „ecosystem services“ , „nature markets“ or the „nature economy“. All pure technocratic and economist-driven concepts far away from the thought that perhaps nature, biodiversity, ecosystems or even the existence of a species can’t be quantified in „value“, financial instruments or similar mental artifact.
