If you use primal, there is an expore feature, which lets you find trending posts, or by your (extended) network, or just the global feed.
Personally, I think the search function is the way to go to find posts especially for "normie" topics. And of course, hashtags.

Some take aways how I understood it from listening to

- #Nostr is *NOT* Twitter. Nostr is more like a new type of Internet. (Permissionless).
- Twitter, Google, Mt Gox are all businesses that can fail or succeed. They dont influence the internet as such.
- The same way if, say, Primal was a "bad Twitter business", that does NOT take away from Nostr potentially creating all applications that we know from the internet. (or more)
- Bitcoin has about 125K holders (did I get that number right?)
- Nostr has the potential to easily onboard multiple that number with getting people into contact with sats / zaps (bitcoin via lightning).
- So only from bitcoiner perspective, "Nostr" (the Twitter type clients) is already very useful.
- Users that post non-bitcoin "normal" content get noticed a lot. (The example was kind of funny in the vid).

Good point with the "drowning in the sea" for bigger overall user numbers.
I still think that - just as with now in the bitcoin subculture - there will be genres and groups that may be very interactive.
But I think people will either need to learn to find these betters (search, hashtags etc).
Or some opt in algos based on interest need to be developed in the future, I think.

On twitter I had like 200 "followers" (read 3 humans) and never got interactions.
On nostr I first followed the people I was following on twitter (roughly, say 10-30?), and then interacted with a few posts, liking and following and occasionally zapping.
Already have more reactions than on twitter. (I know, "X")

I can understand the reaction from the normie side, but my approach would be
Hey normies here is this completely wild west freedom canvas.
Join and lets post scribl-io game highscores (or whatever small talk normie stuff), talk games etc between the 2-3 of us.
I help you play around with zaps, here are some sats.
Then feel free to check out and dont be surprized its different than twitter.
Perhaps newbies from outside bitcoin twitter etc need to be hand-guided a little in the beginning.

I think it's important to use search for topics and hashtags of interest to find your crew.
For newcomers, perhaps need to change perspective that nostr is not twitter.
The complaining / shying away could also be the detoxing process from the addiction algo in a way.

Have been experimenting with carnivore (I would say on it 60-80% of the time, rest is relapsing to crap normal snacks).
Works really well for weight loss.
However am mega low on energy very, very often. So it's not a cure all.
(I also sit on my butt a lot so I kinda know the answer)

The very cool thing about this experience is that I got more help and more positive interactions with a 0-3 follower profile on nostr in one day than I got on twitter with some humble 200 "followers" in a year.
- posting from coracle.
- following from primal is still a little hit or miss.
I suspect the problem lies in the alby extension or how I set it up. Didnt have the issues on primal at all prior to alby extension (i.e. when I signed in using private key).

Still stuck on my nostr experience.
On brave browser. Deactivated any brave browser ad blocks to see if this changes things.
Tried removing the permission on alby browser extension and allowing for each instance.
Liking posts works only sometimes. Following does not work. Not sure if I'm following anyone any more or not.
For some reason on Iris I'm in read only mode and cant figure out how to use it like primal yet.
Work in progress.
Not complaining, just expressing my figuring out this thing aloud. #asknostr
