I suspect Scandinavia - especially Sweden - is good at pop #musicproduction precisely BECAUSE of its lack of defining characteristics. If the music isn't too weird or complex but the melodic and harmonic core is strong, it'll be palatable to more people.
In the United States, one genre with such a strong core is country music. When American country singers take that strong core and get rid of the fiddles, hats and boots, they often become quite popular.

Because of how quiet and unemotional we are in Scandinavia, everywhere else comes across as Italian to us. Talking loudly and using exaggerated body language.
Even British people come across as quite theatrical and animated when you actually meet them in person and realise how loud they are.

Had a big argument about how to design the synthesiser with my friend/partner on the project. One part of it was about how the plug-in modules should look. Invading Ukraine because it wanted to be a bit closer to the West is not acceptable, I think. The hope in Europe was always to maintain a good relationship with Russia. The Scandinavian languages are not exactly subtle. I mean, you can try to be subtle, but their nature is to be obvious and unsexy. You say it as it is. English has a lot of polite words that conceal and paper things over. Not so much with the Scandinavian languages. We don't even have a word for "subtle". I don't know how to translate that, even though I know what it means. I'd have to use a loanword from Latin such as "indirekte". Or a figure of speech such as "gå rundt grøten" (walk round the porridge), but that's a criticism. Walking round the porridge is not encouraged.
