Some #UKPol predictions after the US result:
Our very own failed, corrupt, blond, lying cheat of a former leader will be jealously looking at DJTs story arc and wondering if it is time to start his redemption journey.
We will have to endure even more Farage garbage as he positions himself as the Trump Whisperer. We can be certain he will use any influence he was against the UK's interests unless they advance his own. Labour will try to appease Musk, it will not work.

So Nigel Farage has changed his mind and will nowbe grandstanding in the election.
This is all on the media who were already fawning over his every utterance when he wasn't a candidate or party leader!
Now he is both I imagine we will be subject to little else than what the toad Nigel thinks. Which will mostly be trying to scare voters about foreigners and how fings were better in the old days.

A question for #WeirdCarMastodon folks, looking for some advice. I am looking at buying a car on on a limited budget. Would you favour age or mileage? For similar money is a 2010 with 150k miles a better option that a 2005 earlier model of same with say 80k? If it makes any difference the car needs to be automatic.
To me anything with over 100k feels out of the question but I think that is 80s/90s conditioning when many cars didn't last that long, so might be an out dated view.

I really don't get who is meant to be impressed by statements like this? Why would you want a car built by sleep deprived workers? Why is still positioned as brave bold move when it just poor production management?

@npub1nxt…055a so they were not World governing, but the East German Government gave it a good go. The Stasi were ubiquitous and informing / the fear of informers was ever present. The administration sent Inspectors to ask children what cartoons they watched to establish if they watched West German TV, the children of just regular people. It didn't work out for them but that might just be they lacked scale!

@npub1g0t…tvm4 well it not like #OfWat is doing a great job! Even in the eyes of its creators who I believe created it to protect the privatised model rather than the consumer or environment. It has managed to be so hands off and weak that the whole model is under threat or at least should be.
Still not sure allow Water Companies to mark their own homework would be a big step forward. We would have to have some reason to trust them first!

Well there are alternatives, but they would involve some creative thinking and accepting that profit taking is actually at least as big an inflation driver as wages and consumer activities.

@npub1nxt…055a a combination of genetic manipulation, cybernetic implants, surgery and drugs have successfully changed the scale of human life. A lifespan that would once have been the perseve of God's is now available to the any of the eldon ones ,such as the father and son shown here. The great thing is that this increase in lifespan has been achieved with no loss of our humanity. We may age more slowly but in ever other respect we are identify to our more ephemeral forebears.

@npub1nxt…055a training had been hard. First there had been the generic training that everyone in combat selection had to complete. From this talent pool a few were selected for flight school, the most demanding of all the combat disciplines. Of the 16 initial candidates only three had demonstrated the necessary mental, physical and emotional resilience to bond with the living Wings. Once bonded they become part of an elite fighting unit with a long and glorious history, for life.
