And I’ve found issues with emulation. In my case specifically. HyperCard card transition effects are slow in Basilisk II. QEMU has a funny runtime error when opening a file in my Adventure game stack (haven’t sorted that one yet).
I love the feel of vintage hardware nonetheless. Why else would I type a program into my Apple IIe reading a magazine listing?

I use both. There are advantages to emulation, such as game distribution. Wider audience, etc. It also has the possibility of pulling someone into the hardware. Emulators can execute faster than the original hardware. This is good for optimizing HyperCard stack execution.

I combined Feynman Technique for learning a subject with rubberducking in a tongue-in-cheek approach to problem solving. Gave each of my employees a rubber duck and a single page description of the process.

my 85 year old mother refuses to use any “modern” convenience beyond that available to her 60 years ago. If she needs to bank, she drives to the small local credit union. She will not shop online. Uses a smart phone only to take or make calls. And that was begrudgingly out of necessity.
There are times it is frustrating and inefficient AND I think she made a smart decision.

I’ve always used bamboo needles. They are great. I find the metal needles to be too slippery for my speed. I could still knit and I spend more of my time working on vintage computer hardware, film photography, and computer programming as it’s not as hand intensive. Might pick knitting back up after I retire.

So, the prevalence of lead and other metals in spices has been making news. I decided to contact Costco to see if they test their products.
As you can imagine, I got marketing speak for “No”. They sent me to astaspice.org and would not answer the direct conclusion I made: “So the answer is no. Costco does not test.”

Everybody recognizes a poor software application manual/user guide when they experience one.
I'm writing a classic tome for my #HyperCard Adventure! game and game editor. I'm looking for examples of your favorite user manual or guide. Both printed and online versions. Since I'm recreating the classic gaming experience, I want the manual to have that hefty classic weight as well. I am giving myself until #MARCHintosh to have a completed draft with an anticipated boxed release at #VCFMW 2025.
