Unfortunately my platform is being attacked so folks are unable to access this but I’m pretty proud of this AI feature with learning how to write code. All nostr integrated.
You can generate new cards, Anki style, based on your personal progress. I also think being able to code vocally and answer questions on mobile devices creates 10x more access to the skill.

As you can see, I deal with a lot of bullshit, so sometimes I misdirect it toward folks like you. I don’t really mind sharing the key with productive people, especially if they’re tight on money, but it’s a good practice to be transparent/supportive when doing so.

It is true that American education does a fairly poor job of educating for a more multicultural reality, and the mechanisms of teaching the European perspective is outdated, but logically this means that Critical Race Theory will also become outdated some day.

Writing this letter reminds me of a pretty important experience that I had when I was in high school. I was 14 and had decided to stop pursuing an education in music. I received a surprising call over the summer from my music teacher who had essentially pleaded and urged me not to give up the study. He was honest about why, given the shortage of trombone players he was experiencing, but the other reality was that he cared enough about my education to call me personally and encourage me to continue learning. This was in juxtaposition to how I stopped playing soccer, despite it being an important aspect to my identity.
That phone call was a small effort that had long-lasting consequences in my life. Years later I pursued an interest in jazz music, tutoring and an exploration in a number of instruments like the piano, the clarinet, the baritone and many more musical skills. It had the consequence of being more connected to my culture too, gaining something that I had previously lost with soccer. In fact, I still use a lot of those creative skills today because I ended up developing a profound appreciation for improv jazz music in particular. I credit my study in music as a significant contributor in my ability to learn new creative skills.
I remember that experience fondly because it was probably the only time that a teacher went an extra mile to simply encourage my growth. I learned that the art of teaching is ultimately to move the needle for a student rather than to transfer knowledge, and there’s a lot more that gets accomplished if a teacher focuses on encouragement rather than intelligence. This is something I invest a lot to represent in the technology I build because I believe education technology should focus on this. Education should belong to you, and it produces security & safety for people because it’s a stabilizing constant of life. When you learn, it can’t be taken away from you. You can’t lose something you practice.
Knowledge is only gained through commitment and motivations derived, rationalized and actualized by the student, not the teacher. So, like music, it’s a very emotional and creative field, and requires a lot of the same work needed for a performance. This is something I write about passionately.
This is all a long way to say that I’m here to encourage your learning in the spaces that we share together. I’m hoping you decide to give it another shot. The technology has recently improved and is a lot closer to what I want it to look and feel like. I want to invite you to give it a try. In 2024, I’m sure most of us are trying to de-mystify how powerful tools like AI can create opportunities for us and I believe the platform I’ve created meaningfully introduces it to folks.

The reality is that we have a cultural problem and the conservative criticism of DEI does hold some truth. Latinos don’t care about the tech sector unless it’s branded a certain way.
I love teaching and I love education. I don’t love business and sales. I don’t love promising you quick fixes to your social economic problems. The reality is most things require commitment and that does not exist in our space.

Perhaps it's due to the constant that life is unfair and there is a human urge to level the playing field.

A mild depression today. It feels like a part of my little brain just stops working, unable to receive what it deserves. There are medications, but I don’t feel confident in the long-term consequence of it.
A doctor once explained what I feared more - the consequences of a medication or the consequences of what my body will experience for neglecting it.
I think about that often when my mood declines or spirals and it reminds me that even if a part doesn’t work, I can still just cook a nice little vegetable meal and I can still stop pressuring myself to be better.

I agree, the. UX changes have been huge and so far one of the biggest pains of building a bridge off of Tiktok has been the rendering speed of some things. Tiktok and heavily juiced social media apps genuinely have people operating on a 1-2 second cycle that constantly competes with the scroll/swipe, so having a 3 second load time can make or a break a conversion.
Since we're mentioning differentiated experiences, I'll shamelessly plug this AI-first learning platform that's building on top of protocols like nostr and cashu. The goal is to get people onboarded asap, knowing that I'm competing with Tiktok's pull on attention. Nostr helps achieve this in spades. I do this to bridge folks from Tiktok to Nostr, but the incentive to drive the adoption is fed by providing education services.
So users get a "single player" app that creates an npub for them and from there they get exposed to things and make their own choices.
