Via Rail Business Class is great, just saying
It’s like $100 Toronto-Montréal, food and drinks are much better than any airline, large comfy seats, nice views, you can use your phone (obvs), no annoying security.
Just pure joy and beautiful scenery until you get to your destination.
Do I like trains? Yes I do.

Hey, I did my first 5k after my knee injury! To be quite honest I did a lot of run/walk to make sure I wouldn’t hurt my knee again and will slowly increase the pace until I feel safe running the entire thing.
It was also a trail run, which made it nicer but also a bit harder (many more climbs than my usual road route). But I saw a bunny! Cute!
8:40 pace which leaves plenty of room for improvement. I worked on Z3 and walked any time my HR got too high. This is working great!
Also: got back home exactly 5 minutes before thunderstorm!

I started watching Silo on Apple TV, good show so far but like, why in every dystopian future everyone loses the ability to process colours that are not muted palettes while retaining a very deep sense of fashion?

Saw two great films last night!
Weird: The Weird Al Yankovic Story (2023): I have mad respect for Daniel Radcliffe - he could have done the easy thing and become a blockbuster film star, become a Marvel Superhero or something. Yet he choses odd characters that don’t make him look sexy or indie productions (produced by Roku Films, I didn’t even know that was a thing?). He nails it. The Al Yankovic biopic is filmed and directed like a straight-to-TV biopic but, due to the subject, it’s a parody, of course. It’s hilarious. And everyone is incredible in it.
Three Thousand Years of Longing (2023): I didn’t really know what to expect. It’s directed by George Miller (yes from Fury Road, which I absolutely adore!) and it shows. It’s absolutely stunning, it’s a story about a scholar of storytelling being told stories. And it’s a fantasy, with a djinn in a bottle, that manages to escape the trope of “be careful with what you wish for”. Just insanely beautiful. I need more films like this.

I’m using Merlin for #birdid by recording bird calls and it’s 99% of the time shockingly accurate. There is just one call that our local female Blue Jay does that it doesn’t seem to recognize at all. I couldn’t find a way to report the song/match to the app - I’m certain about the bird, it’s a funny and distinctive call. Anyone using the app has any ideas?
