but life is more than that.
understanding the limits of parsing, how to structure your data for optimal read and writes, not writing n^2 algorithms, heck just recognizing when you’re dealing with trilemmas like the CAP theorem
it comes up when you start dealing with more complex problems

I love driving in Portugal, it’s WAY more fun.
In North America, driving is dangerous because people tune out from boredom. The roads are straight and wide, and the landscape lulls you into a false sense of safety.
In Portugal, driving is dangerous because life itself is uncaring and unpredictable: at any moment you may have to come to a halt, make a hairpin turn or dodge the unexpected.
You have to use all of your reflexes & be totally immersed. Never a dull moment.

because google docs is where information goes to die.
they’re decent for for realtime collab but ime impossible to find later & subject to weird rules around permissions

my eldest child’s sleep has deteriorated to the point where every single night he wakes us up, & it is destroying my mental health.
my partner graciously offered to let me sleep in the basement, as a respite. but tonight at 330am he woke up his brother & they had a big scream fest & i had to come help & i haven’t fallen back asleep since.
