To earn sats you need to have a miner with enough hashrate. A bitcoin node checks that txs sent to you are valid and also enforces the network rules for everyone.

hard to say, depends on many things, but i would say no, i would keep the btc, because i wouldn't be able to buy back 1 btc, so i would keep paying the mortage bc over time it would be less and less btc so you would still keep most of it. while they keep pricing in fiat we have advantage.

I'm using amethyst, I don't think amethyst does that, wine relay is just a one time payment, they have their own web page and it's very simple, but yes I don't don't think there is a unified UX to manage subscriptions. I think it's more than a Nostr problem it's a problem for any LN subscription and Nostr can fix that imo.

large payments yes onchain but that is not the norm on Nostr, makes sense to be LN first/mostly. Still you have some problems, if you use a static address you loose your privacy, so it would be better to use paynim or silent payments, but not all wallets support these. I think it would be possible to run a simple app on any always on pc/laptop that would generate bitcoin addresses from your wallet, and nostr clients could just send a specific nip04 to your app npub to request an address.

some may announce, we don't know about China. but still, we don't know the exponential jumps, they can announce 500 in one year and we lol, then 10k we lol, and then 700k out of the blue, so probably it won't be linear even if it's hardware it can be exponential. imo, LN is already a protocol, NWC is Nostr+LN, currently i don't think there is any zapstore dependency on Nostr, so someone with just a standard LN wallet must get another wallet or do some extra setup. The ux with lowest entry barrier is the standard LN protocol, you pay an invoice with any LN wallet instead of just some of them or extra steps.

It's very possible that the payments use case will be top-bottom, meaning banks and fintechs will use bitcoin as a backend for fast worldwide transactions, just like Strike. Once banks have that, you will be able to pay with bitcoin anywhere and the receiver can get btc or fiat right to the bank account, again like Strike does, in that moment btc can be used as payment anywhere.

I think nostr has some problems with discoverability, where is the data? An npub in wich relays can i find it. Pkaar seems to solve this, on the other hand what pubky for now, seems a bit harder to start, requires more infra imo, nostr it's the easiest thing, also I don't know if pubkey allows redundancy of data, multiple homeservers, or how to move data to a new homeservers. Pubky also has an advantage atm, it has a company behind it, this touches the recent bazaar VS cathedral post of John Carvalho. BTW we have NostrErrorLog and a John carvalho wich one is fake? Lol. So, does this mean we will use pkarr keys as our identity and source of truth and nostr npub will just be a record entry that we can change and in a way be able to rotate? clients will use pkarr key to look for the nostr npub that you actually follow, and if it knows the old npub and the new npub and when it changed (this might be tricky prob.) the client could show you the notes of the person you follow in a seamless way without you ever knowing that he changed npub along the way. Could this all be done using only nostr? probably but i think it would be a bit more complex. Don't know i am bit retarded on this may this doesn't make any sense.

I still don't get pubky/pkarr advantages over nostr, I have some dumb questions that might help me understand:
1- in the pkarr demo you can add key value pairs to you pkey, that is published to some resolver/node? How is that different from a nostr relay? Because we can also add any data to our profile metadata.
2- if I want to publish a "note", what do I do? Where do I publish it? Assuming i won't host anything myself.
3- related to 2, is there any format for the data?

The problem for me is I can't add any lnaddress from someone, let's say just a Strike user and tag with a name. This would be like the private contacts, as for the public contacts from nostr I wish I could add/pick the npubs that I wanted manually i wouldn't even need to have an npub myself or link my npub. The way i see it a contact is always an lnaddress, that is either "hardcoded" manually or it's "dynamic" because it's a nostr user and the lnaddress is what he has in his profile.
