KDE's most important feature to me is the ability it gives me to edit virtually every single toolbar to my exact specifications - from hiding them, all the way to adding whatever buttons I want, whether I want labels or not, and so on. All my KDE applications look very different from the default because of it, and it really allows me to tailor KDE and my applications to be a perfect fit for my experience.
It's such an godsend, and I just can't live without it. Whomever thought "one toolbar to fit everyone" is even an attainable goal has never dealt with users.

I had to set my own shortcut in GNOME just to take a screenshot. It is no longer an application, but just a weird overlay in gnome-shell. Buckwild, and incredibly user-hostile.

The EU enacted a new law a while ago that all bottle caps should remain attached to the bottle, to combat plastic trash.
All the bottle and packaging makers, from massive multinationals like Coca Cola and fucking Nestlé to small local producers invested in the development of new caps, changing their production lines, and shipping the new caps. What toolkit and desktop environment did the most important, and most successful consumer Linux device of at least the last decade opt to use?
Valve chose Qt and KDE for a reason - because KDE is much more open and receptive to collaboration outside of their own circle than GNOME is.

I'm fairly sure that's why OpenBSD is sucking me in right now. It's the antithesis to what the major players are doing. A safe space, if you will.

I'm seriously considering organising an @npub1mfy…hthg contest to make the most minimal Windows ISO/install that can still run League of Legends [and its Vanguard rootkit](https://www.osnews.com/story/139517/chinese-tencent-owned-company-riot-games-installs-rootkit-on-every-league-of-legends-players-computer/ ). The fewer parts of Windows remain, the better. If the singular thing it can run is League, perfect. If it just boots to a command line with access to 'league.exe", even more perfect. If the only network access it allows through is League/Vanguard rootkit, even more perfecter. Removing anything not needed/required to run League is the idea.
The goal is to give people unwilling to install a rootkit to play League the option of running an extremely minimal, utterly neutered copy of Windows that is entirely useless for anything but running League. Of course, the script to generate this ISO should be open source and published on one of the git hosting sites.
As a prize, my first thought was my Dell XPS 13 with 4K display, 8th gen Core i7, 16GB of RAM. Not the newest, but still a good, solid machine. I have no idea what else I could offer.
To even consider doing this, I would definitely need the help of smarter people than me to help judge the entries. Consider this the first feeler: does anyone here have the skills to be a judge?

Is anyone following me a #wayland expert? My Chuwi MiniBook X can only do 50Hz, but users on Windows have managed to crank that up to 60 or even 90. I've tried to use this method to do set a custom resolution/refresh rate on wayland:
