I am certainly not in favor of a nuclear war. It is just a very difficult situation, if NATO intervenes directly things could spiral out of the region and escalate in an unpredictable way. On the other hand doing nothing or just providing Ukraine with weapons can be seen as fighting a proxy war. But maybe it just is, a proxy war between the democratic countries and the authoritarian.

but you know who is cannon fodder, Russians are unless they have a higher position in the army or refuse to get drafted. I hope they can successfully resist Putin.

Because Ukrainians have a choice? As if Putin wouldn't attack Ukraine if they were to put down their arms.
Besides they arent cannon fodder for NATO. Yes the German army for instance is barely able to last for 2week of fighting but other NATO players and NATO in general outmatches Russia by far(see Russia's offense in Ukraine for proof), Russia's army is not as potent as "we" assumed two years ago.

Well one can mute accounts as a default #Mastodon feature. But yeah I dont know what that does about Boosts, would definitely be good to have more options such as, "filter posts from ppl with # in their account if boosted to my timeline" etc
Btw in #Fedilab you can even exclude accounts you follow from your homefeed, that would IMHO also be a nice default feature, or in general making it easier to follow accounts and hashtags as well as to have multiple timelines based on that.
