As unlikely as it is to happen I'd love to see us sign Jonathan David after Dominic Solanke, but it does raise a few questions.
Would David be happy to follow Solanke in, with the potential bench-warming connotations?
Would he be prepared to play cup/Europa games and watch Solanki in the PL?
Would it be a huge shove, or at least a hint, to Richy, or would he still see Spurs as "home"?

I really like Deki, he's strong and more difficult for a smart defender to unbalance than the more naive Brennan Johnson.
But he doesn't have Johnson's pace and direct running style.
Roll them into one and you've got one hell of a player. Deki can make up for the pace by starting from a higher position.
I think I prefer Porro-Deki to Porro-Johnson on the right, but if you take Porro out of the equation I think you'll end up with Johnson.
Still, that's Ange's dilemma.

Must confess to having forgotten about that.
Strange though that he was much more impressive in that clip than it seemed on the day. He did play well, no doubt.
But that was seriously a one off. If he did that week-in week-out I'd gladly revise my view but he's still a no for me.
I'm particularly disappointed with him because he's one that I was sure was going to end up at Anfield and imagine my surprise when we signed him.
Personally I need to see it more consistently.

Frankly I'm just not happy about Yves Bissouma as a midfielder full stop, and definitely not as my defensive midfielder.
Cruel, maybe, but I was kinda hoping laughing-gasgate would solve that problem.
I have serious doubts if he's Ange's (at this point I have to confess to having written Poch's there, but I think I got away with it) long-term ideal no.6 so I'm hoping that's one of the spots he was referring to when he said transfer activity wasn't over yet 🤞🙏

It's no secret that I'm not a fan. I'm sure there are stats showing him to be a great all-rounder but I don't recall him dominating any game like he did at Brighton.
I remember saying something along the lines of him having been a big fish in a smaller pond there and was having trouble adjusting to just being one of the boys.
I don't like that kind of player and can't be having him.
I'd flog him tomorrow.

Never heard of it but I'd have thought "deadly" is a bit over the top.
AK-47s are deadly, bit of a leap.
However, it's all about whether Ange and Danny boy feel that not acting is seen to be treating it too trivially. I don't think they'll back off.
I wouldn't expect to see him shown the door but a large fine and a period of banishment to the under21s could be on the cards. Followed by a season of abuse led by arsewipe fans as revenge for Thomas Partey.

We have to get more early ball in to get the best out of Solanki.
Kane played so deep that marking him wasn't easy, opponents were forced to pick up his runs which was difficult.
Son attracted most of the physical attention, but with a big man in the middle Spurs won't only look different but will be a more difficult prospect to defend against.
Son should find more space and I hope to see him making more of those runs across the 18 yard line.
Exciting times.

That sounds interesting.
Now I'm 70 so it doesn't sound anything like as simple to me as it will to everybody else.
This android device is on Chrome (which I find top-heavy and invasive) so... and this is the kicker. How do I switch to Mozilla Firefox?
Do I download and install first then attempt to delete Chrome? Or is there something blindingly obvious that I'm just not seeing?

The short lived period of excitement and anticipation will soon be over.
The transfer window will have slammed shut and we'll be back to urging VAR officials to "bloody well get on with it", we'll be moaning about refereeing decisions and big fixtures coming amidst European matches.
We'll debate selections, tactics and effective use of individuals.
And worst, cursing any luck gained by that lot up the road.
But we'll back our own.

Watched the Solanke goals video and I'm still on the fence.
It's for Ange to decide who fits Angeball long term, but my view is, for what it's worth, he lacks mobility, a bit slow. I'm not saying he doesn't possess pace, it's just how keen he is on using it, in comparison to Olly Watkins for example.
Oddly I don't disagree with the valuation, and if he comes he'll have my full support but I'd love to be able to read Ange's mind, re: what he's looking for.

Totally agree with all that.
It's one thing to point out Southgate's win % but it cannot be denied he lacked imagination. That's me being polite. Still, that door's closed.
The biggest problem we have is that the same boring drips who appointed him get to appoint his replacement. 🙄

This transfer window is crucial for more than both the team-building and Ange getting "his" players angles.
Lange and his team will be a success only if Ange is happy with the outcome.
But..
By far, the most important thing about this window is how much Danny Boy interferes.
Yes, he has to sanction the spending and balance the books, but that's accountancy.
We've had over two decades of his iffy signings, so will he just let them work?
I remain a skeptic.

5 days until the transfer window springs open.
In the days when Levy had a lock and chain on both purse strings and ins/outs, we got used to ignoring the windows early skirmishing and just waited for Levytime.
Hopefully 🙏 that is now behind us and instead of trying to introduce players 2 or 3 games in, sanity will prevail and we'll get the squad sorted early (ish).
