#unifi #DreamMachine #UDMPro just rebooted without cause and when I reviewed the logs a new Wireguard VPN tunnel had been configured by the device. Anyone else in #infosec seeing #exploitation of these devices? #VoltTyphoon in my router or just a weird update...?

I hate #Facebook #Messenger but a ton of family refuses to move off of FB and onto something secure like #Signal so I begrudgingly use it to keep up with grandma, distant cousin, aunt, etc... in the group chat.
I like to use a wireless kb hooked to my android device to keep input easy #accessible and fast. Every other chat app, Discord, Signal, etc etc understands Enter or Shift Enter or Ctrl Enter as "Send this message" FB doesn't. You actually have to tap the screen.

Have to say that the internet on the plane now is the absolute worst. Not technologically. It works fine enough. Even the free stuff lets you send IMs.
But flying east to west coast used to mean I had a few hours of peace to gather my thoughts, journal, read a book. Anything besides respond to the never ending deluge of notifications.

Gonna write this up better later. But thanks to @npub1tnm…m9wq , we found a fluke in Microsoft's SignonLogs table. Sometime in the last few days they made UserPrincipalName case sensitive.
So our alerts looking for breakglassadmin@CompanyName.onmicrosoft.com started failing because we were using (==) instead of (has).
Would highly recommend you check your alerting and see which operands you're using in your queries.

The next day he gave me a Memorex Kool Kolors cherry red CD with Knoppix on it. That was 2002.
Because of that moment, I'm a Cybersecurity Engineer today!

Was going to download #OpenSuse #Aeon but they don't have a Torrent or magnet link option and the direct download is being ferried by garden gnomes who are manually printing out the packets and fighting their way across the lawn to bring me the #ISO. Not a good look for the OpenSuse project.

Re the local timeline, adding relays via fedi.buzz allows you to pull in whole servers public timelines or public hashtagged posts. This has helped my instance feel a little more homey, and allowed me to follow interesting content.

@npub1zyl…t54n I had a great friend who was always mindful to alternate pronouns in his writing and speech when discussing the accomplishment of technical tasks. "The engineer needs to configure the appropriate firewall rules. Once complete she may start the services." etc... Made a difference to me and is something I strive to do.

For the last few years I've been advocating the use of Security Show & Tells to correlate current world events with shifts in security posture and business processes.
But I've never bothered writing down exactly how that process works or what it looks like, until now!
We've had a lot of success building rapport with other areas of the business, increased our adoption of new security controls, and learned a ton from our non-security partners.

My #EV has a top charging percentage of 80% but lets you charge to 100% when you're going on a trip. I really really need them to make the 80% be 100% all the time. And then when I go on trips, let me charge to 120%.
Then I dont always feel like the car is under charged when i take it off the charger. Would help a lot with range anxiety.
