The purpose of value capture is not to line the teams pockets: it's to reward the network operators in our community who make the app possible.
And sure, if the network stopped operating it would likely kill the app. But that wouldn't affect user privacy in any way, and we've been here for 5 years. We're not going anywhere

Proton was forced to hand over a users IP because of a govt request, despite being based in Switzerland (a country viewed by many as safe).
