Most Facebook users are aware their data is collected, packaged and sold. But does that give Meta the right?
A new consumer analysis shows that on average, Facebook user data is sold to over 2200 partners and data brokers, and an extreme example found “nearly 48,000 different companies were found in the data of a single volunteer.”
In total out of the 700 participants in the study, Meta provided over 186 000 companies access to their personal and behavioural data.
