I've seen it called a novel in stories. Or simply linked or interlinked stories.
Agreed, this is a little boring, so I'd welcome something fancier.

Luuc Kooijmans - Melancholie in de zeventiende eeuw.
Interessant boek over hoe er in de 17e eeuw werd aangekeken tegen mensen die overspannen, depressief, psychotisch of anderszins krankzinnig raakten. En hoe hun naasten en de samenleving hiermee omgingen. Veel gevalsbeschrijvingen.
Opvallend is de plastische taal waarin men hierover sprak: iemand had bv een "seecker gebreck aen sijn harssenen, memorie ende verstandt" of was "simpel, innocent en ijdelhoofdich".

The Wager

Fascinating history of the shipwreck of The Wager in 1741, off Cape Horn. The crew is stranded on a remote island, dying of hunger, cold, storms and illness. There is mutiny and savagery in the struggle to survive. But also attempts to maintain order and the lines of command. Amazingly, they wrote official documents justifying their behavior in case they would make it back to England and end up in court. Which some of them miraculously did.

In mijn omgeving hebben mensen goede ervaringen met Fairphones.
Ik wacht tot mijn 7 jaar oude Samsung het begeeft en neem dan een Fairphone van Murena. Die zijn ontGoogled, privacyvriendelijk, niet datahongerig. En je kunt er praktisch alle apps op draaien die je wilt.

Agree, this is a very good book, and Amor Towles is a very good writer!
If you have not read them, I also highly recommend his 'Rules of Civlity' and 'A Gentleman in Moscow.
And I'm very much looking forward to his newest book.

Mijn boek is af!
Het heet "Een kolossale overdrijving" en het gaat over zes Nederlandse journalisten die in 1946 door de VS reisden. Ze bezochten o.a. Wall Street, Harvard, een groep atoomgeleerden, de Ford-fabrieken, Capitol Hill en de Walt Disney Studio's. Zij schreven er ieder een serie krantenartikelen over.
Hun artikelen geven een prachtig inkijkje in het Amerika van 1946. In de verzuilde pers van die tijd gaven ze ieder een heel eigen beeld van het land.

These are wonderful, especially the blue one!
Funny story about that woman. Something similar happened to me when we were doing the green colour challenge and I was pointing my camera to some boring green grasses :)
