I just finished my Saturday shift, volunteering for the Democrats and #KamalaHarris, calling swing state voters.
In a few hours, I was able to win over a new swing state voter for Harris, and help several Harris-leaning voters figure out how to vote early.
My favorite call was with a disengaged left-of-center Bernie voter in North Carolina.
When I asked about his top issues, he said "free healthcare, free wifi, freedom to grow marijuana". So I responded…

Phew! Finished 120 calls for #KamalaHarris to Wisconsin voters today.
While many were hangups or answering machines, I had some great conversations.
So many of the Harris voters mentioned things like the economy, reproductive rights, or democracy as core motivating factors. I loved hearing from White men about why they're so fired up.
I had a few helpful conversations with folks on the fence, or only soft Harris. In swing states, every vote matters.

I just started volunteering for the Democrats, calling swing state voters for Harris.
On my 20th call, I chatted with a strong Harris supporter Wisconsin. She has autoimmune issues, but has been posting on social media about the election, and is proud of her son, who'll be helping get neghbors to the polls.

2. In my daily life, I’m surrounded by people engaged in specific kinds of politics (e.g., Gaza, Harris, Berkeley city politics). It was a strange luxury to spend a few days thinking about art, design, and tech, operating on a different time scale. On the 277th Berkeley South Asian Radical History Walking Tour (https://www.BerkeleySouthAsian.org/) last weekend, we visited the UC Berkeley Palestine encampment.
Halfway through a story about Indian student protestors in 1975, we stopped to point out the Palestine encampment behind us, and then welcomed our special guests: three students and faculty members active around the encampment. (1/4)

Our guests shared some of their own stories, walked us over to the encampment, and talked about how it fit into the movement to protect Gaza, making connections to imperialism, the role of the academy, and related systems like Hindutva. And then, to our delight, we heard from a middle school student activist on our tour who had helped organize a walkout for Gaza in their Berkeley public school. (2/4)

College hazings are bad everywhere, but from what I hear, the scale of it in India is astounding.
People are subjected to hazings just for the act of existing at a college, not as a result of trying to join a specific group like a frat.

I started digging into the South Asian history of San Francisco's Tenderloin with friends today.
We found at least three themes to dig into, but there's always more
For example, I've found at least three World War II draft cards of Indian men living around the Tenderloin in the 1940s.
Chanan Singh, for example, apparently lived at 60 Leavenworth with his brother. Was this a rooming house? I love the feeling of being at the earliest stage of a new question.

@npub1epd…w9q3 Everyone doesn’t differently. For me, I use #2Do for personal GTD, but keep tasks and calendar entirely separated.
I’ll sometimes put tasks in my calendar for time blocking tasks of 30+ minutes, but not otherwise.
