Wow. A course of steroids and histamine receptor antagonists after my anaphylactic reaction on Sunday have left me feeling, stoned, wired, stupid, and exhausted all at the same time.
I have a stylish new bag to carry around my two shiny new Epi pens, so that’s exciting 😝
I’m just dang glad to be here and thankful for our healthcare system, science, doctors, and nurses!

3/3 Almost 4 hours later, I’ve had a host of drugs, epinephrine, an IV of fluids and the swelling has come down and the drs are happy with the progress. I may be able to go home soon after they evaluate me again in about 30 minutes.
Excellent care with kindness and compassion. I’m also so thankful for universal healthcare!!

2/3 So I pop 2 Reactine and can feel my tongue swelling so I get my sister to drive me to the ER. I cut to the front of the line (so not like me) and they see me right away. Long story short, it was a good thing I had my kit and then went to the hospital.

Big cheer to our local hospital staff.
Hanging out at the beach enjoying a sunny day which could be one of the last beach days of the summer.
An asshole wasp snuck into my metal straw, unbeknownst to me. Took a sip of my ginger ale and sucked up the wasp. Stung me on the tongue!!
I now carry a mini first aid kit with Reactine in it as per my Drs recommendation a few days ago after being stung a week ago.

Bees - I’m just doing my thing, living my little bee life and not bothering anyone. If you are hurting me I’m sorry but I will sting you.
Wasp - I’m here to bother you incessantly and will sting you just because you exist an I’m an asshole. Even if you do nothing to me, I will get you.

A wasp stung me on Monday and what a mess! Arm swollen and red for a patch about 10” x 5”. Discovered that Benadryl didn’t do a lot except make me sleepy and stoned.
Some improvement today!!

Bathrooms...
I have used the mens room on occasion. One time I remember specifically was at a hockey game. The ladies room had a line up a mile long. The men's room had no line. One of the guys, when exiting the washroom, said there was no one in there and why didn't we go ahead. So I did.
And you know what? Nothing bad happened. No one cared.
People need to get a grip.

I only started in musical theatre a few years ago, after saying for a long time I'd like to do it. I have been in 2 shows to date.
I auditioned on Sunday got a callback for yesterday. I am now waiting to hear if I have a role and what it is. It's not a big deal - a local community theatre production, but for me it is exciting! I love to sing and dance - and the sense of community with like-minded people is so great.

A friend of mine (and some of her friends) are going to do #FreeMomHugs at the upcoming #Pride parade here. I know there are organized mom hugs chapters etc., but don’t know if one here. Anyone have info for Canada or are involved?
It breaks my heart that some lgbtq+ folks are rejected by their families and this is just a little thing I can do.
