Happy Holidays! #happyholidays
The modern Christmas tree originated in Germany, where families set up a paradise tree in their homes on December 24, the religious feast day of Adam and Eve. They decorated them with gingerbread, nuts, and apples, among other things.
It was Britain's Queen Victoria and Prince Albert who popularised it in the 1840s and 1850s. Victoria's mother, Princess Victoria of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld, was German so she grew up having a decorated tree at Christmas time.
