@nprofile…60lz I know they wanted to make the difference between 81% and 100% look much worse than it is to get their point across. A 4:5 pay ratio just doesn’t have the same punch as a 1:3 pay ratio. It’s a valid point, but still a deceptive illustration.

A reminder, while frozen turkeys are going on sale everywhere in the USA: You don’t NEED to cook turkey the traditional #Thanksgiving way.
My partner has taken to buying one every year, thawing it, cutting it into pieces, then freezing the pieces (legs and wings) separately while #cooking just the breast and a thigh for Thanksgiving dinner.
(Then she does it again when the leftover frozen turkeys go on clearance after the holiday, and turns all the bones into broth, because she’s brilliant.)

It’s not hard to detect whether the user wants light mode or dark mode, if you’re writing your own #CSS. Use media queries to organize your styles or custom properties in one place:

I wish there was something like Patreon, but for wellness checks. I spent all this last week at work fixing bugs in someone else’s code.
And by “code”, I mean low-code scripts created using a user-friendly “clicks-not-code” solution that was designed to cut down on the time required to customize software.
Turns out that even low-code solutions still require a WHOLE LOT of variable checking, edge-case testing, and optimization before we move it into production.
Anyway, this is what I think of whenever someone says that AI will eliminate professional coders.

@npub1psd…9sr7 I’ve noticed Apple using AI for exactly one thing so far, and it’s actually useful: when Siri reads my text messages in the car, she’ll describe the contents of a photo someone has sent via SMS instead of just saying they “sent a photo.” If that’s as far as it ever goes, I’d be ecstatic.
