Chris Trottier (npub1jeq…jglm) I think what they mean is that Doom may have been the first game that made people want to buy a PC specifically for gaming, or want to upgrade their PC for same. Nobody went out and bought new hardware so they could play Sim City or Lemmings, or even Wolfenstein 3-D.
