Got some nutjobs in my area. The sickness is here too. Couple of em jumped my South Asian friend who lives nearby a few weeks ago, when he stopped in to a vendor on his way over to get me some beer. I do not know anything about the perps, but the Mounties got em and one is notorious.

I briefly considered glasses kids nerds until I realized I was lowest on the social ladder and learned humility, but as a grownup I have actually envied glasses people for the many choices they had in faces. I always liked it when I took a picture of me in someone's glasses.

Sunglasses were a very important matter in the 80s. Nearly anyone could look like a badass if they got the right set, and looked into a small enough mirror. I feel like we're missing out on a similar opportunity with readers.

Ok I know one guy. Cause toxic masculinity made "sits down to pee" an insult and he's one of the most fucks-bereft men I know and I think he says it as a dog whistle to flush out covert or subconscious misogynists.

You'll note, though, that most of those things didn't need computers in the first place - even if it was easy to jailbreak em, what would a post-internet person use the computer for? It was put there to send data to the internet, no keyboard, no camera, maybe a mic, tiny screen if that.
Not saying we don't need tech - there's all kinds of ways a computer can be useful, but if it goes to that apocalypse scenario, we'll be using lower tech, and the young will look at us askance.

Only a world with a functioning internet needs a lot of computers, and while we've all come to think of it as part of the basic landscape, and while it was originally intended to survive being nuked, I think you're overestimating how robust it actually is.
More likely, but still pretty iffy, is that some part of the world somehow manages to keep producing "low" tech stuff, I'm thinking 80s level won't be too crazy to contemplate, and we get much smarter about how to use it.

Even that little tip, maybe I would've found it with google, or maaaaaaaybe I would've thought of it myself after many days of silly stuff, but being able to have someone casually glance at my post and go "look here and here and this is important context" with low effort on everyone's part is pretty much the Internet that I came here for.

It's not affecting the print, but, any advice on that tennis net, #3dPrinting?
First print with the Capricorn tube, seems otherwise fine. The Capricorn is indeed a very tiny bit thinner than the stock Bowden on the printer, but a very small amount. My eyes saw what they saw and the calipers confirm it but I wonder if I really saw it.
