Hate to say this, but I just got off of calls with three very powerful people. No, they're not wildly rich. No, they don't control the lives of many others. No, they aren't going to pump the price of your bags.
Their power is their self-sovereignty and their desire to be free, happy, and purposeful.

I've written and had published two books, both on Bitcoin, both somewhat original.
The first is the only Bitcoin coffee-table book I know of, "Why Bitcoin," which you can get at https://blurb.com/user/TomerStrolig in either softcover or hardcover. (You can get a free pdf of the book at http://swan.com/whybitcoin, but a pdf doesn't look sharp on your coffee table.) Sorry it's pricey, but it's print on demand on the highest quality paper they offer. I get lots of feedback that this is an excellent book for orange-pilling people because of its short and plainly-worded chapters, making it easy to understand, while addressing many of the key questions people have about Bitcoin, especially in the early chapters.
The second is an illustrated Bitcoin book for kids telliing the story of Bitcoin's creation, called "Satoshi Nakamoto and His Bitcoin Invention." This one is published by Shamory and can be bought at https://shamory.com/product/satoshi-nakamoto-and-his-bitcoin-invention-book-preorder/. A perfect Christmas present for the kids of parents you've tried to orange-pill but now have to move down their bloodliine.

Okay, hear me out. I’m looking for some advice.
1. I’ve produced a lot of written content over the last few years about Bitcoin (and also a little bit about psychedelics).
2. Most of it is sitting on single-points-of-failure like Medium, Bitcoin Magazine, Swan.com, Citadel21, etc….
3. I want to put it where it won’t get obliterated if there’s a crackdown on such content or if these individual entities disappear.
4. I’m looking for suggestions on how to use nostr effectively to do that.
4a) I do have a high-powered start9OS machine, but don’t yet run a nostr relay on it, although I am willing to learn how, if that’s the right approach.
4b) I want to know how to accomplish this goal in a way that people can actually easily find the content if they are looking for it, and on this point I don’t have any good ideas.
4c) I’d love to include images if I can inline where they belong in the written articles.
4d) It would be really nice to preserve the few movies I’ve been involved in making this way too.
I’m open to all suggestions and assistance and will try to answer any questions any of you ostriches have for me about this.

Besides “they’re idiots and grifters” can anyone explain to me what the premise is behind all these “brc-20” json entries being recorded on the bitcoin blockchain as inscriptions tied to ordinals are meant to do?
Yesterday, for example, there were only 209 jpegs inscribed on the blockchain (down about 99% from the over 20,000 inscribed 6 days earlier.)
But there were a record 307,046 text inscriptions, and nearly all as far as I can tell were these. Here’s an example of what one looks like:

It seems people are minting arbitrary tokens (now costing about $2 worth of sats per mint), presumably with the intent of transacting with them at some point in the future (again at the cost of an on-chain bitcoin transaction, because ordinals can’t be moved on lightning).
But this doesn’t make any sense. It’s cheaper and easier to just mint a fresh batch of tokens if one needs any for any purpose, because anyone can mint any amount of any brc-20 at any time.
So can anyone explain or point to some podcast or anything why anyone believes this to be a useful thing. They’re spending hundreds of thousands of dollars a day on fees.

A caution on this. Not all your expectations may be met - especially long term ones. You will have to deal with the disappointment when that plays out. You may have to overcome denial that things didn’t turn out as expected. A lot of depression comes from an inability to accept that life did not play out according to expectations. Be aware of what your expectations are. Strive to achieve them. But accept that you are not omnipotent and will almost certainly have to modify them at some point. Also be aware that the more successful you are at realizing expectations, the less prepared you are for the shock of some eluding realization later in life.

Whereas all the Twitter clones had very limited and short-lived adoption, usually tied to one event of Twitter de-platformed, nostr is growing organically and is a fun experience of watching its features develop.
That nostr is already delivering cool features none of those had, and that even Twitter lacks makes it extra fun.
That it hasn’t attracted scammers yet is the icing on the cake.
Feels like a nice, friendly, rational, well-kept place. The whole world should be like this.
