A caution on this. Not all your expectations may be met - especially long term ones. You will have to deal with the disappointment when that plays out. You may have to overcome denial that things didn’t turn out as expected. A lot of depression comes from an inability to accept that life did not play out according to expectations. Be aware of what your expectations are. Strive to achieve them. But accept that you are not omnipotent and will almost certainly have to modify them at some point. Also be aware that the more successful you are at realizing expectations, the less prepared you are for the shock of some eluding realization later in life.
