1. Proton wallet is more akin to something like voltage or Alby Hub (hosted version), in that it's cloud based and encrypted key material based on your credentials. It's also similar to something like blockchain wallet from back in 2015. Not nearly as secure as a seed on your device, but not explicitly a custodial account based system.
2. I haven't used proton since this video, as I pointed out a number of features that I felt were lacking, like RBF, UTXO management, and other privacy features (given it's a device known for privacy and that's what people likely expect).
3. I say a lot of this in the final thoughts but if I didn't give the cloud aspect enough attention then that's my bad. I thought I brought it up by showing access on desktop and mobile but maybe I'm misremembering.
4. Sometimes in making videos every week for 8 years, things get missed. I'm a little sad that someone would instantly jump to "you must have not disclosed an under the table payment from them." I received zero dollars from Proton, and it's not really on my list of recommended wallets - I simply covered it because there was a lot of curiosity around the launch.

Depends on the model of each one. That said, you're not running it to be profitable, if anything it's a lottery ticket. At 40 watts for the 100 version, it's like a light bulb. Less efficient than the current bitaxe stuff, but it still costs basically nothing to run.
If you're deciding between them, I'd venture to day esthetics may play more of a role in that decision than efficiency for certain people.

Hey good question. I was just demonstrating the different ways you could create a channel. Buying one is best if you just want to receive a lot. Setting one up with your own funds is better for spending.

Pretty stoked after my day with @npub1get…0nfm Hub. Managed to get everything set up to my liking. Now any lightning txs that go to btcsessions@getalby.com will go directly to my self custodial lightning node purring away on my @npub126n…e9ll. I was also able to seamlessly link all of this to @npub1xnf…lpr5 on my phone.
I've got some editing to do, but the tutorial will show how to use the cloud hosted option first, followed by a full self sovereign setup on your own hardware. Looking forward to releasing this one.

After cutting bread and pasta, I found my sugar cravings have mostly disappeared. Still eating fruit/veg, along with more meat, chicken and fish. I can see more definition in my stomach than I've seen in probably a decade. Not tired, no feelings of excessive hunger, etc. So far so good!

Idea: Nostr Academy
I would like the ability to host private video educational series with zap to enter capabilities. It would have the ability for attendees to be unmuted by the host to ask their questions via audio or video, or they can simply use the live chat.
My idea to funnel people from YouTube/X to NOSTR would be to host a live show there each week, followed immediately by exclusive interactive + educational content hosted only here. Each week on the legacy platforms I can talk about the great interactions we had on Nostr the previous week and hopefully bring a few new faces each time.
1. How possible is this currently?
2. Is anyone working on something like it?
3. If anyone is working on it, could I work with you to provide ideas & feedback on things I think might appeal to myself and people watching the show on other platforms?
Would also love to hear other ideas and projects for video creators that currently exist... especially in the education realm.

Found the setup to be pretty easy (I use a service called Restream to send out to all the legacy platforms, so it gives an option to set a custom destination - which I just copied and pasted the info from zap.stream
After that, zero maintenance other than having some sats in my account!

Moment of vulnerability here, wondering if anyone has had a similar experience before.
I completely LOST it on another person's kid today when I thought they had intentionally hurt my daughter, but I was wrong and now I feel horrible.
Context: on a road trip with another family. The other child has behavioral issues and has been known to get physical in the past with others at school and daycare. Over the course of the trip he's been pretty poorly behaved and aggressive but not downright violent... but I had it in the back of my mind that it could happen.
My daughter was playing with him in the other room, then suddenly runs out screaming, bleeding from the mouth and saying that he had hit her. I've never experienced anyone intentionally hurt my little girl and I instantly flew into protective dad mode before properly assessing the situation. In my mind he had punched her in the mouth.
I stormed into the room and flew into a rage, screaming at the absolute top of my lungs, pointing my finger in the kid's face saying to NEVER touch her EVER again. His mom was right behind me. He was likely terrified and I was honestly way beyond any level of anger I've ever felt.
In the next minute or two my daughter then clarified that it was an accident and they had been playing rough but had unintentionally slammed into each other.
The boy cried, his mom was in shock, and she also had tears in her eyes. I feel absolutely awful about the whole situation, I should have had more self control, and I'm a little in shock how quickly I became an absolute monster to a young kid.
I apologized in the moment to both of them and sent a message after saying I should have handled the situation better.
Just really upset about the whole thing, unsure how to proceed now. Any girl dads out there ever have this happen to them?
