Bisq and robosats are DNMs because they are marketplaces on the darknet. They compete directly with other DNMs on products such as cash parcels, gift cards, and currency swaps.
I doubt any of the commonly used silk road descendants (good term!) support LN yet but I suspect they are looking since their competitors are doing it and seeing millions in volume. Their incentive is to attract those users to their platforms.

Re: #3, the last hop doesn't know the amount being sent because of multipath, etc., and he does not know the recipient because he does not know he is the last hop. Onions are padded at each step so that they are always 1300 bytes. So the last hop thinks he might be the first hop with up to 19 more to go.
Re: "by default," lightning nodes don't expose your IP address to the public by default because the only way that happens is if you (1) configure your node to route payments (it doesn't do it by default) and (2) choose clearnet instead of tor.
Re: the podcast, we recorded it a few days ago and I am excited for its presumably looming release. I made this chart in part based on things I learned while preparing for the de ate, like the fact that monero does not encrypt peer to peer traffic. Dandelion++ is nice but if several of your peers are fednodes logging all of your IP traffic they can learn a lot.

(1) Regarding the left side of your charts, you write that monero does not (red x) publish all transactions by default, but it does. Here they are: https://localmonero.co/blocks/
(2) Still on the left side, you write that monero encrypts the sender and the recipient, but it does not. If it did, you could name the encryption standard it uses for that. But it doesn't, so you can't. (Lightning uses the Sphinx encryption standard for that.)
(3) On the right side of your chart, you write that lightning does not (red x) encrypt the recipient or the amount from all nodes. It does. It uses the Sphinx encryption standard for that. Not even the last node in the route knows who the recipient is or what amount the sender sent.
(4) Still on the right side, you write that lightning does not (red x) hide your ip address by default. It does. Lightning wallets and nodes do not reveal their ip addresses by default. To reveal your ip address, you first have to set up port forwarding on the standard lightning port (or pick a different one), and then you have to make a choice: do you want to reveal your *real* ip address or use tor? Most people choose to use tor which is why over 70% of lightning nodes are on tor:

If robot A and robot B can trade with one another right then and there, great, but what if robot A doesn't want wheat *right now*? He won't trade. And maybe when he *does* want wheat, robot B won't want a chicken anymore. hey @nprofile…hjhd can you add the ability to log into wavlake by means of a DM'd login code? Support for this method was recently added to https://github.com/nostrband/nostr-login and it makes it a lot easier for mobile users. You just enter your nprofile, get a login code in your regular nostr client, and paste it into the website you're logging into.
It also makes it so I don't have to install a browser extension whose code I don't want to review and trust. Thanks! Holding off on uploading my music to your site for now but please let me know if it's feasible or if there's anything I can help with to *make it* feasible.

I don't think it has to automatically do that. A tracing tool is good if it helps automate some parts of the tracing task even if other parts remain manual.

But random guessing uses no data. This tool uses *data* to identify the sender. A random guess would not be grounds for doing anything. A statistical analysis is worth a lot more.

Someone challenged me to trace his transaction to its source yesterday on Bawdy Anarchist's twitter space and I denied the ability to do so. I want to build more automatic decoy eliminators because without them you need lots of off chain data that I don't know how to get or that is expensive to acquire. I am not sure how far you can get using only chain heuristics to identify the true spender; I suspect it's higher than 1 in 15 but lower than 100%.
One monero dev offered a helpful cli tool that detects all instances when a stealth address has appeared in a ring; this is something my tool is currently missing and would greatly help with building taint trees. I hope that through community effort my tool continues to improve in effectivelness. The bad guys shouldn't be the only ones with a tool like this, and before yesterday only ciphertrace had a tool like this (that I know of anyway)

You said stealth addresses are used once and never seen again but in reality they appear on the blockchain multiple times: when the recipient receives money, when he or she spends that money, and possibly multiple other times as decoys

I continue to work on my hedgehog protocol and I've figured out how to add some cool features to it. I wrote a "bridge server" which helps "translate" hedgehog payments into lightning payments, and it works right now, which means a hedgehog wallet can pay regular lightning invoices. I also added support for something I call "unilateral channels."
What that means is, someone can be fully offline, not even talking to you, not even aware of you, and if you have their pubkey you can send them $100 in bitcoin (for example) in such a way that they "receive" it in a new hedgehog channel. You just use their pubkey to create a multisig and fund it with the $100, then send them a string of text containing signatures for the "force closure" transactions that they need in case they have to unilaterally exit from the multisig. Then, whenever they next get online, they can paste that string into their wallet and instantly start using the money in their (already confirmed!) new hedgehog channel to make hedgehog payments and lightning payments.
You you could also use the unilateral channel feature to "make up" a bunch of keypairs, get some business cards, print out channel opening/closing information on the business cards (using the pubkeys from each of the keypairs you made up to create the multisigs), fund the multisigs yourself, and then "gift" them to people by just handing them the business card. Each recipient gets a new, prefunded hedgehog wallet with full support for sending and receiving lightning payments, with two simple steps: (1) visit a webpage (or download an app) that runs hedgehog wallet software and (2) scan the qr code to import the channel data.
All of these features have some interesting side effects. For example, since you can receive money into a new hedgehog channel without being online, you can keep your private keys fully offline in an airgapped hardware wallet, and whenever you want to send money over hedgehog or lightning, you can just prepare the transaction in your software wallet, encode it as a series of several psbts, pass those to your hardware wallet for signing, and let your software wallet send the newly signed transactions to the bridge server.
You could also *receive* money over lightning into a separate hot wallet, and regularly withdraw it to a cold hedgehog wallet by using your hardware wallet to individually sign the various transactions that are involved in receiving lightning payments and revoking old state (but this requires implementing support for receiving lightning payments on hedgehog, which I haven't done yet -- see below).
I am currently working on a feature that I call "virtual channels" which allow you to make a unilateral channel without going on chain. This lets you cheaply give people hedgehog channels that "fully" work, with the tradeoff that you (the sender) have a copy of this virtual channel's private keys, so you have custody of the recipient's funds. But the channel works just like a regular hedgehog channel, with the same interface, its own balance, full support for sending and receiving hedgehog payments, and sending lightning payments. So it's sort of like you're hosting an lnbits wallet for someone, only with hedgehog's ability to effectively emulate asynchronous payments. Which means you don't need a server to host this software, a regular phone or even a web browser should work fine, because you don't need to be online all the time, only the bridge server does.
Once virtual channels are ready I want to add support for "receiving" lightning payments into a hedgehog channel. I wrote up a specification for it here (https://github.com/supertestnet/hedgehog-advanced) but I haven't implemented it yet. Once that is done I think hedgehog will be ready to implement in a "real" wallet. It will have so many cool features:
- keep your keys airgapped and still (a) send hedgehog payments (b) receive hedgehog payments (c) send lightning payments (d) regularly withdraw lightning payments from a "hot" wallet into .your airgapped hedgehog wallet without needing to do any base layer transactions
- if exchanges like kraken or swan add support for hedgehog, any user who has monthly or weekly autobuy enabled could receive these regular purchases of bitcoin directly into a hedgehog wallet -- hot or cold -- and be able to spend the money on lightning or hedgehog as soon as it confirms, without needing to come online til they want to actually spend the money
- if you are sending someone money and your recipient is *on*line, you can use a hedgehog wallet as a regular lightning wallet
- if your recipient is *not* online, you can pay them by making a unilateral channel for them on the base layer, and to do that you just need to be willing to pay a base layer tx fee and know one of their pubkeys (technically that part is optional, as you can just make up a keypair for them -- though I personally wouldn't trust a keypair that some rando made up for me and I would sweep all funds from such a channel whenever I next got online)
- if your recipient is not online and you don't want to incur a base layer fee, you can make a "virtual" (i.e. custodial) unilateral channel for them and deposit whatever amount you want to pay them into that. You can then send them its details and go offline, and they can sweep it whenever they next get online, without any further help from you (i.e. you don't need to be online when they sweep the funds! They just need the bridge server to be online)
- this emulates asynchronous lightning payments pretty effectively, without the need for the sender to run a server or rely on a third party custodian. But there is a "first party" custodian -- the sender retains custody of the funds in a virtual channel until the recipient sweeps them. And there is a third party bridge server, who can censor payments, though if that happens, the sender can just retry with a different bridge server and stop using the old one
- it also emulates "pull" payments, which are useful for subscriptions. If you want to subscribe to twelve months of bitflix, you can send bitflix twelve virtual channels where each one has a timelock on the virtual channel opening transaction. This effectively means that the first virtual channel cannot be used til 1 month goes by, the second one cannot be used til 2 months go by, etc. As each timelock expires once per month, a single virtual channel becomes usable each month. This allows bitflix to sweep funds from one channel per month, thus "pulling" pre-authorized funds from your wallet according to a predetermined schedule
- if you ever want to cancel such a subscription, just make a new transaction with the bridge server overwriting all the remaining virtual channels you gave to bitflix. The bridge server will then stop treating the virtual channels as valid, because they can no longer redeem the money in them even if it comes to their side of the virtual channel, so bitflix can't use them anymore either, and thus your subscription is effectively canceled
- all of this can work just fine today without waiting for bitcoin *or* lightning to upgrade -- which I think is just amazing!

I wonder if rampant bitcoiner hatred toward SQL is because of the catastrophic Berkeley DB bug that led to one of bitcoin's only hard forks. Berkeley wasn't *originally* a SQL db but it added support in version 11. Leveldb, which we switched to, still doesn't support SQL queries.

By "supernet" I assume you mean Emessbee
The advantages of Emessbee are:
- there is no coordinator, so there is no one to shut down or "leave country X"
- due to no coordinator, there is no coordinator fee, so Emessbee is cheaper than alternative coinjoin implementations (except joinmarket, which pays you to coinjoin)
Drawbacks compared to Wasabi:
Wasabi has no toxic change, Emessbee does
Drawbacks compared to Samourai:
In Samourai you only pay for your first coinjoin, the other ones are free (for you). In Emessbee you pay for every coinjoin, so over time it's more expensive than Samourai
Drawbacks compared to Joinmarket:
Joinmarket pays you to coinjoin, Emessbee does not

Also worth pointing out: Emessbee is not complete coinjoin software and is not ready for use on mainnet. IMO the other coinjoin implementations are better than Emessbee (because they are actually ready to use right now) and you should use those, not Emessbee. But I do think it would be good if the other coinjoin implementations "upgraded" to use Emessbee's coordination protocol instead of using a coordinator.

I like the general idea but it doesn't seem like bitvm computes anything here, so it seems like a generic 2 of 2 multisig address would work better
If Alice wants to buy 5 btc, she deposits 10 as payment + collateral. Bob accepts by depositing 10 as well. In the happy path, Alice sends Bob the normal money they a payment method they agree on, and they cosign to give Alice 15 btc (so she is up 5) and Bob the remaining 5. If either party refuses to follow the protocol, the other party refuses to cosign anything, so they both lose money. This incentives following the happy path without needing any of bitvm's complexity.

Joinmarket's coordination model is unique and awesome because the coordinator is just one of the people in the coinjoin (the "taker"), changes in ~every round, and does not take a fee -- rather, they pay fees to the makers.
I do not like that the coordinator in joinmarket can map everyone's inputs to their outputs. This could be fixed with blind signatures and I am happy to help make this happen if it would be a welcome change in joinmarket. I also do not like that there *is* a coordinator.
If it's possible to do this stuff without a coordinator, why have one? A deterministic protocol like emessbee removes variables introduced through the coordination mechanism. And it also might keep some people out of jail til the feds criminalize mere participation too.

Joinmarket does sybil resistance via fidelity bonds, that is, you only coinjoin with people who first prove they locked up a bunch of bitcoin in a timelocked address. Sybils would have to spend a lot of money to do that, thus bankrupting themselves, so you're only left with honest people. I think emessbee can do the same thing, so yay.
As for zerolink, its purpose is to prevent linking the equal amount outputs to their inputs and to prevent linking people's ip addresses to their inputs. I think I've managed to do the first part in a different way, so I don't think following the zerolink protocol would improve anything on that front. The other part seems achievable by just writing a client that runs over tor and creates a new identity for all three rounds. Thoughts?
