"Probability theory, is the branch of mathematics concerned with the analysis of random phenomena. The outcome of a random event cannot be determined before it occurs, but it may be any one of several possible outcomes. The actual outcome is considered to be determined by chance.
Probability expresses our uncertainty about the evolution of phenomena. After the outbreak of a pandemic following a global financial crisis, the photographer feels the need to reflect on the notion of chance, randomness. Observing the continuously reconstructed reality, probability acts as a story-generating machine leading to infinite alternative paths.
Through a sequence of seemingly unrelated images, this photographic series create a puzzle of incidents, hidden objects, or gestures, reflecting on how we interpret the facts that happen around us and the different paths we follow after the occurrence of unexpected events".

Got some mail today from our friends at The Meleka Foundation!
Founded in 2018, the meleka foundation is a non profit organization supporting the Hadza tribe in Tanzania. “Meleka” refers to an old hollowed out baobab tree that serves as shelter. It is also the “tree of life”. Therefore, meleka symbolizes safety, home and connection to nature.
We’ve been supporting for a few years now by contributing a percentage of our yearly revenue and we feel pretty good about it 🫂🤘🏼

Title: »Lüderitz«
The work "Lüderitz" is set in two places that are around 12,000 kilometers apart and yet share the same name: Lüderitz in northern Saxony-Anhalt and Lüderitz in southwestern Namibia. The former is the origin of the von Lüderitz family, from which the merchant Adolf Lüderitz later emerged. In 1883, he laid the foundation for the consequential colonization of what is now Namibia by fraudulently acquiring land. The starting point was a place named after him: Lüderitz. From then on, this was to be the new home for German settlers who followed the colonial promises of money and habitat to what was then known as "German South West Africa". Until 1915, the country was under the violent "protection" of the German Reich and was at the same time the site of rich diamond deposits and the scene of the first genocide in the 20th century.

Light in photography is everything.
If you set aside the subject matter for a moment, it becomes clear that without light, there is nothing.
I highly recommend watching the incredible documentary by John Ott that explores his work with light.

I have always been interested in how unwitting visual arrangements create structure (composition) and how they affect me. I am curious about traditional, domestic still lives. I am drawn to capture images of arrangements of abandon and deteriorating equipment and buildings and think of these as exterior still lives that signal my concerns of deterioration and loss.

"I’m a 38-year-old father of four who works full-time in finance, but I dedicate every moment of “me-time” to photography—it’s my passion and creative outlet. For me, photography is deeply therapeutic. It’s where I process thoughts and emotions, especially around themes like mental health, being present, acceptance, and life’s contradictions.
Much of my work involves booking a studio (often downtown San Diego), bringing along a few props and an idea, and stepping in front of the camera. I begin by asking myself, How do I feel? From there, I try to portray that feeling or connect with a phrase or concept that resonates within me. I aim to become a vessel for that idea, channeling it through the lens. This process is incredibly fulfilling—it’s less about perfection and more about expression. Whether the images turn out amazing or just okay, I always leave the studio feeling whole and refreshed.
My portfolio primarily explores themes of self-portraits, shadows, and everyday candids. These images serve as a way for me to express emotions and create moments that feel otherworldly.
The series I’m submitting doesn’t have a formal title, but it embodies these personal themes—honest explorations of identity, emotion, and the human experience."
