Nunchuk + Tapsigner with extra keys as backup. There are a bunch of resources out there for these things, but social media isn’t exactly designed for tutorials. It’s kinda built for memes and short videos or media and the like. I think this might just be the wrong environment for the type of content you seem to be looking for.
But if you wanted resources all you have to do is ask, people are more than happy to help. But I suspect “asking” by basically saying “you all suck and never help anyone,” is likely to get you a lot LESS assistance… thus confirming what you have already decided is true.
Just sayin.
For resources: I can’t think of a tutorial or info that @npub1rxy…hnp8 hasn’t covered on his channel. I always direct people over there first.

For an answer that less general and more practical:
You can use a service like River, they pay like 3% ish on cash balances, and keep 80% of your savings in Bitcoin at all times. That way you are limiting your losses, and making up for it partially with an interest payment. While also not fully exposing yourself to Bitcoin down swings, and leaving room to buy the dip if your situation feels stable.

My suggestion is keep it in #Bitcoin and have a long term perspective. The short term volatility will matter less and less as time goes on, and it will matter more and more the longer you hold cash.
Savings is specifically a long term security strategy, don't shoot yourself in the foot by sacrificing its long term usefulness over short term concerns.
In other words, if bitcoin is volatile in a downward direction and something bad *isn't* happening, then use that opportunity to save harder and it will pay off even more when it returns to the mean.

I don't eliminate that as a possibility at all. It'll travel the path of greatest pain. Therefore if most people think it'll stop around $200K and pile on the shorts around there, it'll probably rocket up to $500K, THEN they'll be convinced it'll run out of steam, and it'll rocket up to a Mil, and then they'll be so scared of it they won't know what to do, and they'll just dump the crumbs they have left over into it, and it'll finally crash all the way back down to $250K, before - in utter despair - they sell everything... and it starts a strong climb again. 🤣

Definitely should cache the old balance though. Nunchuk takes some time to check new balances but my old ones don’t go away. With people so scared of using bitcoin, mitigating that sort of fear of “OMG MY WALLETS EMPTY” is probably a good idea.

Here’s the thing about the bitcoin-Trump-govt-takeover doomers…
First, Trump doesn’t care about bitcoin or crypto that much. The argument always seems to be some big conspiracy to make a CBDC and use the bitcoin rocket to expand their reach and dominate all the KYC paper bitcoin and trap everyone in it, etc etc.
But it’s only us who put bitcoin at the center of our “plans.” They are “playing with it” because it’s this tiny side project that has been making money. Thats it. Trump is interested because there are voters he can appeal to. There is SO much honesty in the “and whatever else you are playing with” comment. He doesn’t care about any of this, and neither do the overwhelming majority of them.
It’s a bunch of opportunists that see growing numbers and so they buy an exchange, they try to dominate this and that market, etc. it’s nothing new.
Look at the stupid shitcoins they keep issuing. You think these are brilliantly laid plans? They could barely sell anything of their latest scam.
And of course when considering the exploiters of the old system, they will have more capital to dominate the new, but this doesn’t change in any way the fundamental incentive shift that occurs within the Bitcoin model.
Fiat has a corruption loophole, Bitcoin plugs that loophole.
Quit declaring failure before things even get off the ground. And quit framing Bitcoin’s importance through OUR lens instead of theirs. They don’t have that.
This is where “stay humble” shows up in practice, imo. We aren’t the most important thing in their world. We are winning and just need to put our head down and build solutions to TODAY’s problems, not throw our hands up in surrender or put all our concern in some elaborate, long term “probably going to happen” master plan.

We did everything we could, spending an excruciating amount of time trying to explain it and tell people about it when it was worth nothing but we saw the potential it had to solve an absolutely massive problem!
Sorry if the response came off a little direct, but most of the time when people bring that up they like to scream and complain about “unfairness,” when many many more people did know about it for a very long time, they just ridiculed everyone who used it and called it stupid.

They do not even slightly. Printing fist is a systemic and permanent imbalance in the game rules. Being early in bitcoin was not only hard af, and not only did almost nobody have the foresight and conviction to hold since then, but it’s no more an advantage than the person who buys Apple when it’s still a massive risk and just an idea. There’s nothing remotely unfair about it and it cannot be made more fair.
It’s the difference between someone who starts a board game and gets pints, before others even come to play the game, while fiat is simply that some people can issue themselves as many points as they like, whenever they like, and buy or own anything they want in the game.

But I understand the difficulty and cost in keeping something like this running and don’t fault them at all for their decision to let it go. It says that these don’t make economic sense as massive, market dominating corporations. It means that on a bitcoin standard they would be far more distributed and competitive and the value provided would be catered to more specific and smaller audiences and would change more based on locale and other factors.
If you think that it means we can’t have what Amazon offers without a giant, corporate, unprofitable, VC backed institution to suck up the whole market and push everyone else out, then I think you are misunderstanding the nature of value and how the market provides it.
To the contrary, Amazon is *destroying* value, because there is a better and more economically sensible optimum for providing the service. Evidenced by the fact that without being subsidized and killing 1,000 competitors while losing money for a decade on cheap fiat loans and VCs, it wouldn’t have lasted. It would’ve had to provide net value *much* sooner and at a smaller scale.

Man, having Alby Go plugged into my Start9 with Alby Hub is just the coolest and cleanest implementation.

The best way to find out when the establishment is hiding something or when a "conspiracy theory" is true, is to carefully read the "fact check" that is pushed everywhere.
If you know what to look for you'll spot them quickly. How many times they add an unimportant or needlessly specific detail to a claim and then only refute that detail. Or that throughout the entire thing it's a series of mild caveats with no hard data, or obvious hand waving like "both sides were there" without addressing the difference between them or going out of their way not to mention the massive discrepancy.
A simple example from the other day:
The Claim = "There are zero cases of autism or chronic illnesses in Amish community because they are unvaccinated"
The Fact Check = "Some Amish get vaccinated too. There are definitely cases of Amish having cancer, chronic illnesses, and autism."
What they DID do:
• Used "zero cases" as their very easy metric to shut down because its an impossible claim, rather than addressing the obvious point of the claim, that there's a vast difference.
• Pointed to some specific person saying this thing and the loose information they had to back it up at that specific time. "He based this off interviewing a few dozen Amish, NoT SciEnCe." Rather than again, actually talking about the issue or looking at real data.
What they did NOT do:
• They never discussed the vast difference between the two populations.
• They never shared investigations or brought up information about whether there was actually a difference between the vaccinated or unvaccinated Amish, even disregarding the difference from the wider population.
• They shared the same old post-hoc uncontrolled studies of vaccinated populations, without any data from the Amish or a less vaccinated population to compare to, in order to justify the same old "it's safe" narrative.
Basically it was a lesson in political framing and narrative posturing. The fact is, either they directly refused to bring up the hard data and actually address the issue, OR they couldn't find any real data to support their "fact check" (ie. they had zero facts to actually refute the problem posed) revealing the legitimacy of the concern, rather than it being a falsehood.

It's important for us to understand that everything you read from everyone has a degree of unreliability. The "conspiracy theorists" are incentivized to believe and find info that proves that every disease since the beginning of time was caused by Big Pharma. While the establishment is going to twist and caveat everything into confusing nonsense and simply try to make anyone who says anything that deviates from The Narrative™️ seem crazy, strawman their claim, or associate them with someone with no credibility. This is universal.
It's often in the defense that you will find the threads you should pull on. It's what they DONT refute. What they refuse to provide data on. Or the issue they avoid talking about that will reveal where they have no foundation to stand on.
For the people who know what to look for, you'll find the "fact checkers" themselves to be one of your best resources for finding out whether or not they are completely full of shit.

Answer me this. If in one of the most critical counties in the most critical states, the losing Republican candidate was suddenly getting a last minute surge of votes, and the Dem validators were shoved out of the room, the door was locked, and ONLY the republican checkers were in the room, and the Republican candidate ended up winning with a landslide of last minute votes. If you have 1,000 hardware wallets and only do multisig, then you can actually make your wallet safe against brute forcing because there are so many different combinations that you’ll never generate the same ones. There’s like a million different possible combinations 🤣🤣

The problem I'm referring to isn't with @npub1v5u…n0v5, its the index they connect to for aggregating podcasts. And i still just haven't figured out why its such an awful search system or what is even happening. That's what makes it suck. Fountain has been great for me in every other regard, but the podcast index project has made it unusable for me because of one really stupid and fixable barrier that just isn't getting fixed.

Literally every single time I want to share my podcast, I have no way to get the link from the Podcast Index. Which is just so stupid to me.

The ONLY reason I can’t use @npub1v5u…n0v5 exclusively for podcast is because of how garbage the podcast index is at searching my own show.
If I search “Bitcoin Audible Whitepaper” then despite 100s of results not a SINGLE episode of my show is even there. If I search the same in Spotify, the episode with the whitepaper is, obviously, the top result.
This has been going on forever and it’s so fucking annoying. I’ve contacted the guys who literally made the podcast index, and have tried to sort this out on maybe a dozen different occasions in the past 2 years, and it’s still complete trash.

Sure, there’s more than just open source to the problem. But anything else is meaningless without it being open source and verifiable first.
It’s the equivalent of taking paper ballots, having ONE person count all of them, then put them in a pile and burn them all. Then saying that it’s been verified because the guy told us what they were.

Paper is the only current option. However a secure voting system isn’t that hard either. There are numerous proposals that would work, transition would simply be difficult. But it’s not even necessary, simple is better for something like this and there’s nothing wrong with paper ballots. You just have to distribute the operation of verifying better. Simple proof is a great example of how good it could be
